Secretary of State John Kerry says a new congressional authorization for U.S. military operations against the Islamic State should not be limited to Iraq and Syria and should not bind President Barack Obama from ever deploying ground troops against the group if necessary. [ ]
Obama is using congressional authorizations that former President George W. Bush relied on after 9/11ones that critics say are a legal stretch at best.

Can somebody post the Kerry Easter picture? You know, the one with him in his bunny outfit? lol
I’m so embarrassed for America it almost makes me cry.
JFK is getting to big for his britches at State. He may the next to get Grubbered.
As cycnism and sarcasm goes, well played, sir.
They want a blank check to do what pleases them. Which is what they sorta are already doing.
We can’t deprive them of sleep but they are fine with just killing them!
Thank you kindly !
John, there’s a fence.
Don’t you have a few medals to throw?
I really hate to admit it, but Kerry’s got a point.
If an issue is important enough to go to war over, then the person tasked with fighting that war shouldn’t be hemmed in with legal restrictions on how he does so unless it is absolutely necessary.
Unfortunately, we have a C in C I find it difficult to trust. Which is, when you think about it, a darn good reason to elect a trustworthy president.
Kerry appropriated a point from the conservatives. Which means he stole it, in order to use it for the benefit of Obama, who would then interpret it according to his whim (consider how he’s been interpreting the congressional authorizations for Bush of late).
LOL - I like it - thanks !
Funny. We didn’t need “war powers” to fight the Barbary Pirates. Or hunt Pancho Villa.
What sort of wimps are we?
I say we stay out and encourage Iran and Russia to fight these freak.
Their casualties won’t mean a thing to us, and they won’t tie their troops up with stupid RoEs.
Yes, everyone else should fight them for us and the USA ought to be on a “kumbaya-peace” footing permanently, looking utterly impotent. Especially our biggest enemy in the region should “fight” them for us while they get nukes to hurl at us, thus solidifying their takeover of Iraq and Syria.
This is true.
Kerry is acting as Jar Jar Binks to Obama’s Palpatine here.
IS is mostly Muslims killing other Muslims.
Why should we get involved?
Let other Muslims save other Muslims.
So the Christians killed there are an acceptable loss?
No, not acceptable but not for us to go to war over.
Besides, as I said ISIS is mostly killing other Muslims.
What are other Mulslims doing about it except wailing for the USA to save them ? ... then they hate us for ‘interfering” in the Middle East.
Sick of it.
Sick of doing it the liberals’ way? That was their game plan all along.
Like it or not, they’re coming here again.
