The deepest and most powerful low pressure system for A CENTURY is currently hurtling towards the west coast where mammoth 50-ft waves threaten mayhem.
While waves the height of six-storey buildings are believed to be forming in the North Atlantic, according to the BBC.
These terrifying images show a gigantic sea swell on a direct collision course with Britain with landfall expected to hit tonight and through tomorrow.

Maybe the former Archbishop of Canterbury and Druid Priest, Rowan Williams, can summon the magicks of his Druid ancestors, or some other crap, to “thwart the onslaught”.
The tipoff: “the most brutal attack since last winter”.
I think they’ll survive.
Yup. That’s the message.
Deniers must be vanquished! The money has to come!
Paging Superman...
Maybe not but it can turn upside down
:)
I found this little snippet interesting:
“The eye of the system, which will pass over the north of Britain on Wednesday, has a pressure of 952mb and will rival the historic storm of 1987 which was driven by a low of 951mb.”
That’s nothing I’d laugh at, personally; the Great Storm of 1987 did quite a bit of damage and killed 22 people in England and France.....it was pretty serious. Apparently, it was an extratropical cyclone with hurricane-force winds.
You can read more about the 1987 storm here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Storm_of_1987#United_Kingdom
Interesting reading for natural disaster buffs.
Anyone have any idea how they fared last winters storm.
I am assuming the white cliffs of Dover are only 4o feet high?
I believe that Dover is on the East Coast of Britain while this storm will strike the West coast.
Whilst in Scotland that weekend, nothing.
I remember going to a major soccer match in replica soccer shirt and jeans. It was sultry warm.
That just goes to show you that we have actually been on a 100s of years long cooling trend. Exactly what you would expect at the tail end of an interglacial period. The El Ninos of the late 1900’s were just noise during the fall. Nature’s head fake if you will.
Brace yourselves, sharknado is coming!
Storm of the century??
It’s not on this guy’s radar yet.

Of course, the "Butterfat Effect". ;-D
