Today, the most recognisable, feted, popular man on Planet Earth will bestride the White House like a colossus.
He'll pose for some photos in the Oval Office and probably crack a lame joke that leaves America's toughest political journalists guffawing sycophantic gales of fake laughter.
When he departs, President Obama will shake his hand and feel very grateful that he was able to bask, albeit briefly, in the reflected glow of his guest's beloved VIP wattage.
Tonight, the same celebrity icon will take his beautiful, equally famous wife to a basketball game in Brooklyn; the public will go crazy, while the notoriously sniffy New York media will pretend not to and then go crazy, devouring the couple's every breathing moment like starving hyenas.
When this superstar couple leaves a few minutes before the end, Jay-Z and Beyonce will be left in their court-side seats wondering how on earth they can ever achieve the level of ecstatic frenzy they just witnessed.

He’s right. He’s merely observing how much Americans worship Obama. Much of this once great land would be thrilled to establish a royalty, especially if Obama were the first King.
Amen.
Royalty is a stupid idea in the modern era and looking at “your” Royalty Piers, it’s time to end it
Perhaps we should just make Great Britain a state.
Then they can live within the glow of our leaders.
Where is Top Gear host Jermey Clarkson when we need him
Our fondness for royals is a lot like our fondness for grandkids. They’re fun to play with and be around but it’s nice that when they poop their pants it’s somebody else’s problem.
Maybe its just that these two are displaying a sense of class aind dignity that has been missing from our politicians for a long long time (with the exception of Reagan, who the media hated)
Yeah I hear he broke his hand or broke his finger good for Jeremy
They are a novelty to us. It’s kitchy. And it’s a sign of respect to be polite. Oh, and we kicked your butts so we are being nice.
Piers Morgan.... name sounds familiar.... isn’t he the guy that got fired on TWO continents?
From what I have read, William & Kate are honorable, moral, commendable people. William’s family status is not of his making. He served his country honorably in the military.
I have nothing but good thoughts for these young people who have done nothing to deserve ridicule.
Story is
He was on behind the scene on UK Paper hacking scandal brought out down UK News of the world
Was he involved in the hacking? Defending the practice?
Just because we are polite to guests and retain a certain family regard for our cousins doesn’t mean at all that we wouldn’t start shooting at them again if they had the bad manners to once more come over and try to “Lord” over us. An aspect of our character Piers seemed to note with disdain the last time he opened his mouth about us, if I recall correctly. Did removing your tail from between your legs hurt or require medical intervention, Piers?
Royal Crown or Crown Royal
or
Crown Royal in your Royal Crown
Nah...let us take suggestions from the good limey.
So Piers...who would you suggest? Barry the Halfrican muslim ?
I’d take Prince Wills and Kate any day over our royalty, Hollyweird and King Obama and his ugly consort.
In explaining the American Revolution, usually attention is paid to issues such as "no taxation without representation," etc., but the real reason is simpler:
The Brits were twits.
We had no choice but to rebel.
