VINTON, Va. - 'Tis the season for gun sales - or so it seems.
November proved to be a popular month for people to get their hands on guns. Background checks in Virginia are up 12 percent from last year.
Experts are crediting two big events Black Friday and Ferguson, MO. (Click here to see a national story from CNN).
Three background checks were done every second on Black Friday across the country. The big shopping weekend played a huge role in getting people out to purchase a gun.
The shelves at Safeside Tactical in Vinton are not as full as they were going into the big shopping weekend.

It sounds like the non-Gruber Americans are preparing themselves just in case.
The reporter sounds rather perplexed and blind.
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...guns.
The surge seemed to occur around the time the grand jury gave their verdict. How coincidental!
An armed society is a polite society. Yeah baby!
:) :)
I see this as a normal thing.
1. November is one of the largest hunting seasons across the country.
2. The supermarket prices are becoming ridiculous, due to fed regs, unionmongering, transportation costs, and the stagnation of paychecks;, so, it might just be cheaper to go out, ‘and get it on the hoof’!
3. All those dizzy protesters are threatening the livelihoods of decent folks, and small businesses across the country. some of those businesses had been hand-me-down from other famliy members, some have been start-ups, with the owners now caught in the downward spiral, and nothing left but the business. Those that have depended upon the feds for aid, have been shown that they really don’t count, so all the others that have watched this, know that there is no other alternative, but a firearm.
Now if only I could find some .22 ammo. I’ve found it on line, but I’m not paying $18 for a box of 50. Not too long ago that would have bought two bricks...1000 rounds.
Every time a read a story about massive gun proliferation, I feel a warm sense of comfort and an even prouder of the fact that, before my TBA, I had purchased two black, evil, mean, innocent toddler murdering, horrible, and bad ASSAULT RIFLES!!!
Wife went and got me a Golden Boy Henry Repeating Rifle for
Christmas.
Oh My!!!
I bought the wife a Sig for Christmas.
Hope she appreciates that
Make sure she practices with it and becomes very familiar with it
