I wonder if Mr. Giles knows how difficult it is for an ordinary citizen to obtain a machine gun. Low level peons, such as myself, have to settle for semi autos and revolvers.

“Massive protest/riots”? Are nothing more than what the media is hoping to create with all their hype.

Well, given that it's Christmas time, Id ask Santa for three things, namely: peace on earth, goodwill towards man and a machine gun.Santa should bring a Glock instead. It is all that is needed.

In keeping with the Christmas season I suggest downloading your Glock 21 mags to twelve rounds.

My concern has typically been dealing with the threat of fire.
One can be armed, yet if the mob is big enough and the molotov cocktails are flying...that is a problem. Fires can leap building-to-building if the construction is sufficiently close together.
Further compounding the issue is that many homeowner insurance policies will not provide coverage if damage is due to warfare, civil unrest, riot, etc.
A reasonable step might be to flee a home for safer locales. At the same time...if one loses their home, their possessions, and everything they have toiled so hard to earn over the decades, it is not much of a life either. It is essentially starting from scratch again.
These kinds of threats call for tough decisions.
I definitely feel bad for anyone caught right in the midst of it. They must be feeling tremendous levels of concern for life and safety.

How many times have you sat in front of the tv and watched a crime being committed and said outloud if he or she had a gun this not only would have stopped the crime but sent a message, we need to send more messages! When you see a survielance camera of a convienience store clerk being robbed at gun point, a sawed off shot gun placed under the counter pointing at the perps balls will do the trick.

Genuine machine guns are expensive - and then one has to pay an extra $200 and wait for The Blessing from the BATF to own one.
On the other hand, an entry semi-auto AR-15 can be had for just a bit over $450. For another $150 or so, we cash-strapped Bible thumpers and bitter clingers out here in Flyover Country can also lay in a few extra mags and a workable stash of good ammo for those "post-awkward" times.
That is probably cheaper than moving all the way across the country to get away from the rampaging mobs of fools and stupid Liberal tools (but, I repeat myself).

I read the article and liked it; the basic problem with “peace on earth” lies with the true quote. As opposed to the song lyrics and many peoples’ statements, it’s not “good will to men,” but rather “to men of good will.” That’s a fundamental difference, and really justifies our second amendment.

Meh.
I prefer to carefully aim each shot, and full auto costs too much money for the gun and the ammo.
I like a nice tight grouping.

I shot lots of machine guns while working for my Uncle but he was paying for the ammo. They’re fun to shoot but expensive to feed. I’ll stick with semi-auto now.
BTW, that was “Uncle” Sam.
