LA was a Democratic state in those days. Fraud aside, a Republican couldn’t even be elected dogcatcher. It took several years for things to really begin changing and Katrina accelerated the process by emptying out a lot of Democratic voters from New Orleans.

What's happening is that an increasing number of white voters are deciding that the Democrats care more about keeping blacks happy than the lives of whites. I think the more people see the Ferguson videos, the more white Dems will stay home.
