“...you can at least stop trying to torpedo and poison the rest of Christendom with excuses.”
Ha! I guess I should be flattered that you ascribe to me such power, that I could “torpedo and poison the rest of Christendom”. What am I? A Bond villain?
I am a man, commenting on the state of affairs in society as I see them (and as a growing number of men see them as well, as the article notes). I am not going to shut up because my observations aren’t convenient for you.
Also, I didn’t create this state of society, I can only react to it. I guess you don’t like my reaction, but I really don’t see why you care so much. It’s my life, you don’t have to live it.
And you have certainly not established that it is “holier” not to choose to engage with matters in this physical earth (if that is the construction you choose to put upon “worldly” in this context).
The passaqe you cited said that those who have a wife should act as if they didn’t have one (and if they didn’t have one they shouldn’t seek one) and those who have bouqht should act as if they haven’t.
Seems like the idea was “don’t count on anythinq beinq permanent.” And it makes sense for a time when beinq Christian meant you could lose property, spouse, children, and your own life. At that point simply holdinq on to your faith, and helpinq everybody else to hold onto theirs, had to be the major priority.
And every day moves us closer to the same situation, to be truthful. Maybe we are in a time where we can’t and shouldn’t hold onto anythinq except faith and love. Not clinq or place any trust in a job, a house, a spouse, a child, parents, neiqhborhood, etc. Is that the life you say you have, in accordance with Scripture? That you’re not clinqinq to any of those thinqs?
You do have a cynical bent... once more you use the catchall “society.”
This was NEVER to be a concern for Christendom... NEVER.
The leqal definition of marriaqe only confuses the issue. Leqally, marriaqe doesn’t mean anythinq. If people settle on obeyinq the LEQAL definitions for marriaqe they’re on sinkinq sand.
REAL marriaqe is defined by the Lord, and when HIS definitions and protocols are followed there will be a blessinq, and love to hold thinqs toqether.
“Sorry but I have to disagree that all women in their 60s are brain dead or brainwashed!”
In MY option, the BEST women are to be found in the pool of 50 and 60 year olds! There are some REALLY great women in that age group. Attractive, accomplished, educated, and knowledgeable!
Yeah.
I started to post that, MD is full of liberals.

Either they are only interested in his money or they want a bad boy.
He tells me that I raised him right, to respect women, so he refuses to play the game and be a "bad boy".
And he can spot a gold-digger miles away. No way is he going to give her everything he has when she finds a golden goose that looks more interesting.
Can't understand where all the nice girls have gone --- so he is content now to be on his own. Says it gives him more time for hunting & fishing.
On the other side, my 24 yo daughter has found that it is very hard to find a nice man. The men she meets are just interested in sex, so she's about ready to give up too.
I guess young people today who are raised right, respectful and not sleeping with anything that moves are considered a rarity, and ones that probably will never marry.
“You do have a cynical bent... once more you use the catchall society.

Then why exactly are you commenting on a POLITICAL website if you’re not concerned with society?
Actually, that’s a huge help, because I have a g to cut and paste. And I also have a G to cut and paste. If I could just keep your post on top I’d easily be able to grab what I need.
Aha! Even better. I’ll put those letters in my tag line and then I’ll always have them available when I post. I won’t Guarantee I’ll always take the time to worry about it but at least it’ll be easier to do when I remember.
Live without women?
Punani?
Buddy....I gotta have a woman in my life
For sex...for luvvin
For everything
Sure they are irrational and emotional and self obsessed
But then there is the rest of it.....and ain’t nothing else comes close
I would never live without a woman except in the penitentiary
Women can be molded a bit
Very few are a lost cause
Some of them just don’t know what they needed all along till they meet Clark Cable...an analogy
So don’t be pussies...be a man
They just need a way to find each other.
I have a 20-year-old daughter and 18-year-old son. He’s shy and she’s out-going. But she’s so busy with college classes that she doesn’t have time to even think about guys.
I think the church conflicts have taught my kids that it’s easier to be alone, though. It’s hard to be a PK (pastor’s kid) even at best, but especially hard when the congregation is in conflict and you never know who is shooting daggers at you behind your back. It takes a lot to trust somebody after that stuff.
I am in my 40’s and agree as I work with a lot of women of various ages and am constantly exposed to their vapidness and raging drama. Thank God I have a sane wife of nearly 23 yrs! She walked into church one morning and sat down right in front of me.
However if she were to suddenly die or we divorce I would seek out the women I know in their mid to late 50’s, very early 60’s. Yeah they are older than me but so what, of the lot they seem to be the most stable at least in my area of the parking lot.
lol!
That really is funny.
Your final defense here is this?
You are absolutely right. God did not intend for everyone to be married, and the general statement of ‘be fruitful and multiply’ was not a commandment to everyone.
Paul had the gift of singleness, and so do many today, and when they don’t fulfill that...unhappiness reigns; then divorce. A person, who marries the wrong person, is miserable...or who marries and shouldn’t.
The Bible also says “except the Lord build the house they labor in vain’. (paraphrased)
I’ve read this thread to see what people say about relationships and the theme is men only want sex, and women want to take their stuff/money. I beg to differ on this.
AS a woman I can take care of myself, and do the laundry, cook, clean, and work to make money. The only reason for women to marry is to have love, family, and sex too. Men do not hold a monopoly on that. There are just as many men denying women their needs than vice versa...I talk to other women too. I am happily married and with my husband twenty years...however, too many want to take and not give, then there are problems.....both male and female.
So, Boogieman, you do what God called you to do, that is what is missing in this world. WE try to make people do what we think is right, when God has called them to a different life.
Blessings.
qet your computer fixed
Very important point, and it's usually more than a bit.
She'll willingly follow your lead - if you are a leader.
