OH BULL> The New Republican Senate does not take office to January, 2015. So this is all that can be done at this time, to show the people they do plan to do this again when the Senate can pass it.

King is an IDIOT...and evidently not as conservative as he claims.. Boehner is not the real problem, and he brought this vote to the HOUSE to show people who is really going to confront the President.

Do you NOT know how Congress works? The Democrats are in power until January and although money bills start in the HOUSE they have to be voted on in the Senate, and approved by the President. They can’t do it on their own. The New Republican Senate does not take power until January, 2015 when they are sworn in.

It is symbolic because the democrats hold the Senate until January, 2015 when the NEW Senate takes their oaths and goes to work...Please learn how Congress works...my Gosh, quit whining about things you don’t understand.

It’s a BS bill.

It is not really the key bill.

Labrador is pro amnesty but opposes executive amnesty because he wants a congressional amnesty.

Paul Gosar is scared to death of a primary (originally due to fiscal reasons) so he is the best on immigration from Arizona. Matt McSalmon is a puppet of Boehner and Jon Kyl. Trent Franks lets illegals pray on his lawn. Schweikert thinks we need to import illegal alien welders(some of whom killed some firefighters in Boston).

Mostly RINOs and conservatives.

Coffman who is Cory Gardner Sr on immigration.

I think Marlin Stutzman and Gohmert were the conservative no’s.

Denham, Diaz, Ros Lehtinen, Valadao and Coffman were the NO RINOS.

Conservative Presents: Bachmann, King and Gosar who are all strong against amnesty.

Open borders self professed Tea Partier Present: Labrador.

If a government shutdown happens, is it possible to impeach or sue Jeh Johnson and others if they ignore the shutdown and attempt to spend federal monies that have not been appropriated by Congress?

I’m for letting the government SHUTDOWN and sort it all out when the new session starts. As for Boehner, I’m sure there’s a circus somewhere missing a clown.

I’m no constitutional scholar but it’s time to get series. That’s why we send these yahoos to Washington to represent us. They are supposed to know how to play the political game in our best interest, not theirs or the other party.

Steve King alone derailed Trey Gowdy’s plans for 2 million undocumented Democrat Dreamers.

http://blogs.rollcall.com/218/steve-king-dreamers-arent-all-valedictorians-some-are-running-drugs/?dcz=

Gowdy with his whiny voice went to a scrum of reporters and complained about King.

Steve King will be 1 of 10 or 20 who will vote against funding Obama’s amnesty with the rider. The real bill that matters.

I believe that if Congress toughs it out on amnesty and refuses to fund the department that implements it, a shutdown is all but inevitable.

It remains to be seen how many members have the fortitude to tough it out, even of the mainstream press lays the blame on them as they most assuredly will.

There really is no other option. The Constitution only gives Congress so much power. These are:

1) The Power of the purse

2) Impeachment

if they exercise the first, they will have to overcome a veto, which they don’t have the numbers for. Hence, a tough congress will have to endure a shutdown, no matter how long.

if they exercise the second, they again don’t have the numbers to succeed, which will just be a royal waste of time, other than to send a message.

Get over yourself. I’m (obviously) not the only one on this thread who thinks that.

Yes. Obama loves the opportunities to mischaracterise opposition to him and to create divisiveness among Americans.

Read Drudge. Obama NEVER SIGNED AN IMMIGRATION EXECUTIVE ORDER!

Obama issued a memorandum to Jeh Johnson to delay deportations, but not much else. There is no executive order.

This Congress does not have the 2/3 majority to override any of his vetos.

They don’t even have a majority in the Senate.

...or their new members seated.

Obama NEVER SIGNED AN EXECUTIVE ORDER ON IMMIGRATION. all he did was issue a memorandum to Jeh Johnson to use prosecutorial discretion. It’s on Drudge, now.
