In the world of Twitter and Facebook hashtags, the potential 2016 presidential candidates who generate the most buzz are former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, according to Politico.
On Facebook, Clinton and Cruz together racked up 40 percent of posts and comments having to with the 2016 presidential race. On Twitter, both got 47 percent of mentions on the topic.
And while former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush attracts plenty of media attention, hes virtually ignored on social media, getting a lowly 3 percent of Facebook mentions and 2 percent of tweets, Politico noted. Sen. Marco Rubio, a Florida Republican, did even worse, with just 1 percent of Facebook mentions.
Lots of attention, however, does not equal gobs of love....

What about his wife, who is an exec at Goldman-Sachs?
No problem?

For Clnton, I suspect it’s homosexuals and womanists pushing her. Hopefully normal folks will get sick of it soon.
For Cruz, that’s really reassuring. Especially contrasted with Jeb’s virtual non-existence online.
Then again, if the party leaders force Jeb down our throats, his lack of online enthusiasm could hurt, especially with efforts to draw younger voters, who seem to spend all of their waking hours staring at lowing screens.
Did I, as a Specialist 6, participate in the My Lai massacre that occurred when I was 8 years old? Is Mr. Obama responsible for slavery, since he helms a country where it was once legal and integral to the economy? Since Ford and IBM built products for the Third Reich are you a Nazi when you patronize those companies?
“Glowing screens”
Every time I go out of the house it amazes me to see so many people staring at their cell phones. Am I the only one left who barely uses the dang things?
My family and friends were initially shocked to find that I leave it at home sometimes. The phone is there for *my* convenience, not theirs.
The older folks in my family get it. They lived before mobile communications were so ubiquitous, so it’s not a foreign concept to them. But the younger family members are amazed.. kinda like when I tell them about pay phones, collect calls, etc.
My mother had an episode of Seinfeld on, and the kids were laughing at the idea of an answering machine..
I think it works really well for our family for us both to have careers, and I know what my commitments are to Goldman, Mrs. Cruz, 41,”
I can’t find any info on her position at G/S. She is a regional “managing director”...... of what?
I made mid six figures selling pay phones in the 80’s. Oh, well.
She is currently head of the Southwest Region in the Investment Management Division of Goldman, Sachs & Co. A regional manager of a subsidiary, not a company director.
Liberals tar all investment firms with the Gordon Gekko greedy capitalist brush, and Goldman Sachs is a recognizable name.
If Mrs. Cruz conducted business there legally & ethically (the oppo crowd is already digging) then Dems will have to look elsewhere for T.C.’s Achilles’ heel.
Reminds me of a time I was in the city a few months ago. I heard a little kid behind me - maybe 7 or 8 years old - yell at his mom excitedly, “Look Mom - a pay phone! Woooooow!”
Thanks for the info.
My average day was $950, but I had more than one where I scooped up $30,000 or more.
Is that your best shot?
On this, I suspect you’re a rarity.
Am I the only one left who doesn't have a cell phone?
It would be a problem because millions of people, rightly or wrongly, connect GS to almost everything wrong with our country today. Insider bailouts, billions gambled, GS always getting the inside of the inside track, as execs transfer between govt jobs, academia, and GS.
A lot of folks think that GS = vastly corrupt oligarchs, inside traders, and bribed or bought pols. Who all take turns at the head table, and always walk away with parts of billions.
That’s why. Otherwise, I like Cruz a lot.
