Critics Rip Rucker for Performing 'White Christmas' After Garner Decision

Social media lit up Wednesday evening with complaints about former Hootie & the Blowfish lead singer Darius Rucker performing "White Christmas" at the annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony at New York City's Rockefeller Square. Some activists had threatened to attack the ceremony after a grand jury declined to indict a New York police officer in the death of unarmed Eric Garner during a confrontation over cigarette sales in July.

His original faith was Judaism... he gladly joined with America in the secular aspects of Christian festivals but I’m not sure what his attitude ended up to be... an agnostic, maybe....

I actually caught a bit of the show last night on accident (left over from morning news). His performance was very good. What sad is I did wonder if this would pop up today. /sigh

So to protest excessive police violence on a minor criminal, they’ll perpetrate violence on innocent people at a Christmas event.

HA! I did not know that. And Irving Berlin wrote “White Christmas” while sitting by a swimming pool in California or someplace.
There’s actually an intro verse that tells about that, only a few very versions include that.
