The attorney generals from 17 states have filed suit in federal court seeking to block President Obama's plan to legalize 5 million illegal aliens.
Led by the governor-elect of Texas, Greg Abbott, AG's from Other states joining are Alabama, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, North Carolina, South Carolina, South Dakota, Utah, West Virginia and Wisconsin.also joined the suit.
“The President is abdicating his responsibility to faithfully enforce laws that were duly enacted by Congress and attempting to rewrite immigration laws, which he has no authority to do — something the President himself has previously admitted,” Abbott said in a statement. “President Obama’s actions violate the Take Care Clause of the U.S. Constitution and the Administrative Procedure Act, which were intended to protect against this sort of executive disregard of the separation of powers.”
The White House responded to the suit by saying it is “confident that the President’s executive actions are well within his legal authorities.” Officials pointed to a memo from the Office of Legal Council justifying their move and a letter from 135 immigration law professors backing them up.

I watched NBC national news last night, Brian Williams. Unless it was very quick and I missed it, not a word was said about this in the broadcast.
Why am I not shocked that NJ isn’t on this list. Christie sucks! I hate my state!!!
135 immigration law professors are also constitutional law experts? If the Supreme Court comes out against Obama, will these immigration law professors resign their positions? What law school would want to knowingly employ a professor who does not understand the law?
BTW, is there a list of those 135 professors?
No matter how much those 135 profs hate the constitution, they do not change it.
White House aides are calling now - law professors all over the country are being asked if they can be put on the list, just in case they need to produce it at some point.
other than Texas, neither are the border states - the ones that suffer the most
So a state has to be invaded first?
They spent about a total of ten painful minutes on the election. Obamcare? Forget about it.
Their MO: Never put Zero in a negative light.
my point is that the border states should be first to sue, as did Texas. They have been trampled by illegals.
17 States is a start. I hope more join - but at least these States have a backbone. à bas obama!
John Boehner and Mitch McConnell will ignore this as well as the voters and will ram amnesty thru so they can line their pockets.
#2 He did take the time to mention his daughter being on a nbc tv show about Peter Pan.
You know the important stuff.
That’s my thought too! Come on Gov.Christie(R(I think)). Amnesty is not popular among Americans. He must think like the democrats, amnesty=votes.
Hannity and Megan Kelly: I wish that they could hold up a copy so the world can see it.
Is it true that Obama has not yet signed such an order that he talked about recently on Nov. 20?
As everything else in this damned regime....what is a law? Gov Abbott has stated a suit as soon as the EO was signed. Next we hear of a suit along with 16 other states. So no EO was needed? If not why wait this long to file? So now the little o changes law by memo? Definitely much finagling found in the oo under this dark man. Laws mean nothing to him. Of that, we are certain. Where do Americans go from here? And is there an alternative procedure in order to get there?
