MIAMI A federal appeals court has refused to extend past Jan. 5 a stay in a ruling declaring that Florida's ban on gay marriage is unconstitutional.
The Atlanta-based 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals also said Wednesday it will consider the case on an expedited basis. Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi wants to court to reverse a Tallahassee federal judge's decision in August that would strike down the same-sex marriage ban.
I would like to know how elections alone can cure the judicial disease that ravages America.
How is it that the Feds get to tell the States who can get married. This is not a federal issue. There is absolutely no Constitutional connection. Does anyone think the people that wrote the Constituion wanted or ever thought that perverts should be able to get married?
Well, I’m sorry to say, but it does appear that both the Constitution and the rule of law are quite, quite dead, here in America-2014.
Florida voters defined marriage in their CONSTITUTION!
Federal judges need to BUTT OUT.
The definition of marriage has always been federal. See the requirements of Utah joining the Union.
The sucker punch came when the left claimed “states rights” to get it started and then had their federal judges legislate it from the bench.
