Previously, Ms. Bosman covered the New York City Department of Education, the publishing industry and advertising and media.

She has also written for Arts and Leisure, Week in Review, Sunday Business, Travel and Sunday Styles, and freelanced for The Wall Street Journal, The New Republic and Slate.

Ms. Bosman joined The Times in 2002 as a clerk in the Washington bureau, where she worked for three years as an assistant to the columnist Maureen Dowd.
