Ho, boy...
Why not? It makes him look good, and we all know that his money’s staying right in his pocket.
Hopefully, this is a trick, and Dr. Ho just needs to catch some live subjects for his experiments.
My dad always told me - never trust a Ho.
Great! Another psycho running around with a “Womyn’s studies” degree. Assuming that said person could endure college or even have the tenacity and ambition to do well.
A 9mm would have been better, more responsible solution.
No, I don’t think he is crazy. I suspect you’re pessimistic.
A wealthy rancher here in the Pacific NW did something similar but under different circumstances.
He was giving a brief to incoming a high school freshmen class and it occurred to him how encouraging it would be if he offered to pay the college tuition, fees, and book costs for all these first year boys and girls. So, he did.
Most of them graduated four years later with grades eligible for college. A few even had scholarships and didn’t need his financial gift.
But it made a huge difference in many of the youngster’s lives. It should be interesting to see what happens in this case with Dr. Ho.
Incidentally, my father went to USC on the GI Bill. He was the only person in his family to ever get a college degree; one of his grandfathers was a coal miner, and the other had been a cavalry soldier. He graduated, became a mechanical and nuclear engineer and retired a company vice president from an electrical utility. That education made all the difference in his life.
This is the same type of mindset that allows Iran to get nuclear weapons thinking that it’s only fair and they’ll never use them.
I don’t know that I would want to be sitting next to these “men” at school.
You know, I think I get it.
If the reality is that these people are young and are not likely to be locked up for all that long (whether I agree with that or not, you have to accept reality of what courts will do), I could see myself doing something like that. I’d want them punished - definitely. But after punishment has been served...
I believe that God wants me to forgive those who trespass against me. I wouldn’t find that easy to do in reality. Doing this would be me getting closer to that ideal...
And if they turned their lives around, then I could forgive.
Yes, I could see myself doing something like this. If people wanted to call me foolish, I would find it hard to argue with them. But I could see myself doing this.
So now robber/thugs/high school seniors will be constantly trying to jack him up for a scholarship :o)
Mr Ho while this admirable to pay for college, you might first pay their legal bills, so joe citizen does not need to foot the bill.
The idea that crime pays is not something you are born with. It has to be taught.
Has this guy tried petting Polar Bears yet? I bet he would be really really good at it..
I have a better idea: if that thug will turn himself in, I’ll pay for a rope, electricity, or the bullets. My plan will actually solve the problem.
Doc. No good deed goes unpunished.
Moral Hazard.
chances are they never finished high school.
Turn yourselves in and I'll pay for your college - in prison.
Dr Ho is either a much better man than I or the dumbest highly educated smart man in Houston. I suspect the latter.
