MSNBC COLUMN: Why I can’t believe Darren Wilson
MSNBC ^ | 11/28/2014 | Adam Howard

[SNIP]

Wilson also testified that even after being shot and wounded several times, Brown continued to “charge” at him, with an intent to kill. “When he stopped, he turned, looked at me, made like a grunting noise and had the most intense, aggressive face I’ve ever seen on a person. When he looked at me, he then did like the hop … you know, like people do to start running,” Wilson testified.

It’s hard to fathom what is more absurd, the idea that a multiple gunshot wound victim would keep coming for more, or that a grand jury would believe it.

I’ve never been accosted by the police, which makes me something of a statistical oddity. I assume however that if I ever am, I would be terrified and I certainly wouldn’t attack an armed officer. I’m not a coward. It’s just that I just don’t have a death wish. And, contrary to some peoples’ opinions, neither do the overwhelming majority of African-Americans.

This is why it’s hard for many to understand Wilson’s story. Basic common sense tells us that if someone has a gun and you don’t, you don’t pick a fight with them and you certainly don’t run at them full speed with your arms out while being fired on. Brown tested positive for marijuana, but not for a drug that historically associated with aggressive behavior like PCP. Nothing in his history supports the notion that he was prone to sudden, heedless violence.

The concept of physically overpowering black males taunting police to shoot them feels like a myth while the prospect of being targeted by an overzealous white person, who’s finger is on the trigger, is a reality that plagues many African-Americans.

RE: It is also hard to fathom that an 18 year old would stick his head in a police car, assault the officer and try to steal his gun. But don’t take Wilson’s word for it. Brown’s fingerprints were on the gun.

How do you square that with this report from the Daily Mail:

Darren Wilson’s gun was NOT tested for Michael Brown’s fingerprints, and officer was able to wash blood from his hands: Probe’s serious errors exposed in grand jury files

What I read was that the gun was tested. The washing of Wilson’s hands means nothing other than he is entitled to seek treatment for his wounds in a sterile environment. Wilson’s hands would reveal NOTHING about the case.

Brown’s bully ways are recorded on video in the store. There were witnesses to his bullying through the window.

Brown tested positive for marijuana,..."
enough to where he was deemed "impaired"

Apparently I was remembering that the gun was tested for DNA and not fingerprints. The evidence adds up to the same.

2 + 2 = 4
1 + 3 = 4

Michale Brown had a gunshot wound to his hand that autopsy and forensics have shown could only occur if his hand was 1/4 inch or less away from the muzzle.

If Brown had succeeded in pushing the slide out of battery Wilson would not have been able to fire. I wonder if Brown knew that and was attempting to take the firearm out of the fight??

Well the author would have to also not believe over a half dozen witnesses and the forensic evidence too.

Nothing in his history supports the notion that he was prone to sudden, heedless violence.

I guess roughing up a store clerk while stealing doesn't count as violence in the warped mind of a left-wing extremist.

Didn't he see the pics in the convenience store?

One question please ... were there other witnesses who CONTRADICTED the above corroborating witnesses?

Nothing in his history supports the notion that he was prone to sudden, heedless violence.

Nothing but the felonious assault of a store clerk and a close contact gunshot wound to his hand minutes before his death.

Bingo! You don't have to believe Darren Wilson, try looking at what the eyewitnesses said.

Is the MSLSD reporter that stupid or does he think we're that stupid? Or both?

It would only take a few minutes for one of MSNBC's flunkies to call a few police stations and ASK what happens when a man is shot.

"Do thugs drop - like in the movies - one shot and down?"

If MSNBC shills researched this - and got the same answer from every police department..."no, real life isn't like the movies" they might just be able to add a little intelligence in their broadcast...

Of course, that would be very weird for MSNBC... or NBC for that matter... Vile and stupid's their brand...
