Wilson also testified that even after being shot and wounded several times, Brown continued to charge at him, with an intent to kill. When he stopped, he turned, looked at me, made like a grunting noise and had the most intense, aggressive face Ive ever seen on a person. When he looked at me, he then did like the hop you know, like people do to start running, Wilson testified.
Its hard to fathom what is more absurd, the idea that a multiple gunshot wound victim would keep coming for more, or that a grand jury would believe it.
Ive never been accosted by the police, which makes me something of a statistical oddity. I assume however that if I ever am, I would be terrified and I certainly wouldnt attack an armed officer. Im not a coward. Its just that I just dont have a death wish. And, contrary to some peoples opinions, neither do the overwhelming majority of African-Americans.
This is why its hard for many to understand Wilsons story. Basic common sense tells us that if someone has a gun and you dont, you dont pick a fight with them and you certainly dont run at them full speed with your arms out while being fired on. Brown tested positive for marijuana, but not for a drug that historically associated with aggressive behavior like PCP. Nothing in his history supports the notion that he was prone to sudden, heedless violence.
The concept of physically overpowering black males taunting police to shoot them feels like a myth while the prospect of being targeted by an overzealous white person, whos finger is on the trigger, is a reality that plagues many African-Americans.

-—What was your purpose for asking?
To sniff out a potential troll who could be implying that those of us on FR would not know about the divergent witness statements and were seeking anything but justice for the parties and the community..
The simple refutation to any defenders of Michael Brown and their citation of witnesses (many of whom were publicly cited by the prosecutor as inaccurate) is the physical evidence.
Brass casings locations show Brown was moving toward Wilson
DNA found inside the police car support that there was a struggle over the gun.
Wounds in the hand with close powder burns support that there was a struggle over the gun.
Blood spatter patterns support that Brown was moving toward Wilson.
No wounds support witness statements that Brown shot in the back.
Pattern of wounds support that Brown was charging Wilson
There are so many studies showing the unreliability of eyewitness testimony, and so many of the ‘witnesses’ regarding this shooting were motivated to condemn the policeman. We can all be grateful for the sufficiency of physical evidence to guide the grand jury in making their decision.
There is the most telling thing about the actual video. This is of this "unarmed child" and the small store clerk. After he had roughed up the clerk and started out the door, he turned back and advanced in menacing fashion.
His mentality shows this. Even the slightest protest against his criminal act, is seen as cause for his anger. He was dead set against the officer and turned back in anger, the same as shown against the store clerk.
Probably couldn’t figure out how Nixon beat McGovern in ‘72 either, deeming it highly unlikely that voters would act contrary to how he would act.
What trash passes for journalism!
Just observing that people can behave irrationally yet their conduct could still be believable.
There have been plenty of studies that indicate that Marijuana can and does in some individuals who are already prone to violence cause them to be more violent. When you lower ones inhibitions it makes it easier for the worst of them to come out and Brown had just minutes before proven that he wasn’t beyond bullying up a clerk for some smokes. He wasn’t a nice guy at all.
He was a bully and aggressive. Evidence clearly indicates beyond a doubt that he attacked the officer in his cruiser and his hand had muzzle flash residue which supports beyond a doubt the Officers story that Brown was struggling with him for the gun. This is the point where if one had any remaining delusion that Brown was just a poor young “gentle giant” it should be summarily dismissed. A person that is willing to attack an officer in his cruiser and struggle with him for his gun is a person that no longer fits the category of normal sanity.
Even if you dismiss the testimony from black witnesses that back up Officer Wilson’s testimony its beyond clear that Brown was not just a little bit aggressive but off his rocker aggressive. Its the attitude of the writer of this article that is helping young black men further down the path to their graves. It allows the ghetto black community to once again refuse responsibility for doing nothing to raise their children as to prevent the early path to prison or the grave.
There were 6 gun shot wounds. The first four were non fatal to the right hand and arm with the exception of the last two which were in the head. The last and fatal one was to the top of the head and entered in such a way that it appeared that Brown was in a posture leaning forward at that point. He was completely capable of charging the officer as eye witness testimony described.
In an odd way, the Brown/Wilson case is proof of how far America has come racially.
A few decades ago they wouldn’t have had to essentially invent a narrative of racial injustice and brutality. It was there all the time for the observing.
I grew up in a Missouri city, not the deep south, but the cops then casually referred to their nightsticks as n****r-knockers. And used them accordingly.
Adam, find out what the term “Sympathetic nervous system” means then come back and tell us what you find.
It is also hard to fathom that an 18 year old would stick his head in a police car, assault the officer and try to steal his gun. But don’t take Wilson’s word for it. Brown’s fingerprints were on the gun.
Hard to believe or not, the evidence is the evidence. Brown did not want to get arrested for theft, assault and drug possession. His judgement was distorted by drugs. He figured he could win the battle with only one officer.
Bingo! The stories were all over the place.
Liberals are so stupid they make muslims look smart. And that’s going some.
Keep fighting is a whole hell of lot different than charging
Not necessarily. Brown never killed anyone before. wilson was on a pd that had to be disbanded for its out of control behavior.
Exactly. The story was corroborated by the witnesses and the crime scene evidence and further other witnesses who tried to tell a different story were found out to not be telling the truth and recanted their stories.
I can’t believe Darren Wilson because I think he is a domineering, steroid taking hothead. One of our family friends said that when being a cop meant he was gunning people down in the streets, he would not be a cop anymore.
Its hard to fathom what is more absurd, the idea that a multiple gunshot wound victim would keep coming for more, or that a grand jury would believe it.
Happens all the time. And when it does the forensics back it up.
They have to keep spewing this crap, to keep their remaining thirteen regular viewers coming back.
Agree. Having read a lot of WW2 accounts, this is well known.
ahhhh, found the word! Corroborated !!
