Homer - Thanks for posting theses newspapers. My uncle, Sgt. Stanley A Davis was killed 70 years ago yesterday in the action described above, for which he was posthumously awarded the Distinguished Service Cross.

Thank you for sharing this story. God bless your Uncle Stanley and all the uncles who didn’t make it home. My own had a close call when his B-17 was shot down, but in the end he made it back.
