In the week ending November 22, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 313,000, an increase of 21,000 from the previous weeks revised level. The previous weeks level was revised up by 1,000 from 291,000 to 292,000. The 4-week moving average was 294,000, an increase of 6,250 from the previous weeks revised average. The previous weeks average was revised up by 250 from 287,500 to 287,750.
There were no special factors impacting this weeks initial claims.

Now that the midterm election is over..
The election is over and people have their attention focused on Obama’s amnesty, the black looters and arsonists in Ferguson, and Thanksgiving dinner.
So, while hardly anyone is looking, it’s a good time to pick up the slack from the numbers that were fudged to make them look good in previous weeks.
I can’t wait till we have an (R) president so we can get back to the word “unexpected” to be used in context of good economic news again
No kidding, but watch in amazement as the unemployment rate magically goes up (even before the new Congress has time to pass anything).
There are jobs out there.
My company typically has over one hundred openings across the country at any given time and we often have difficulty filling despite potential for six figure income in many cases.
People need to make themselves more marketable, need to communicate clearly (both orally and written) in the English language and need to show up every day and on time with a positive attitude.
Sales and service. Lot of people don't want to do sales and service and are holding out for some "Laverne & Shirley" job. Well good luck to them.
