The number of participants is tiny in comparison with the population of the surrounding regions. My impression is that the number of actual protestors is in the hundreds, especially when you account for the enormous number of media participants.

"Ten thousand channels" can easily mean "ten thousand reporters" and "ten thousand camera crews."

During the student protests in Chicago back in 1968, the number of protestors was far larger, and those were largely organized by outsiders.

It is becoming clear that these protests are bought and paid for. 99% or more of ordinary people have declined to participate. They don't represent anything other than a media event.

Good point. I watched some of the live streaming videos for a while last night and noticed that most of the people there were just milling about and watching the misbehave-rs.

outsiders were for sure egging this stuff on. Communists, New Black Panthers, and occupy movement were all in town. to agitate, train , and prepare for the days of riot. The news last week reported on them. Two were arrested and their Molotov cocktails confiscated.

I suspect that the arsonist in the drive through pillage, loot and set a fire group had a back pack of kerosene arson bombs. was a member of the New Black Panthers group, but it could have been the CPUSA. They were fast, and rolled the car up jumped out looted and left a fire in very short amount of time.
