Imagine this: A man woos a woman to bed with tales of his riches, fast cars and a vacation home in Monaco. But he actually lives in his mothers basement.
Or this: A seemingly wealthy widow convinces a younger man to sleep with her on the notion that they may marry and hell inherit her money. In reality, shes broke.
In both cases, someone lied about his or her status in order to have sex with someone else.
Under a bill recently proposed by a south Jersey lawmaker, such actions would not only be considered dishonest. They could prompt charges of rape.

For your own protection, make a video recording of your love making and all that is said before the act. Then email it to her family as proof that you’re not a rapist. Yeah, that’ll help.
Remember the story of the Israeli woman suing because some guy told her he was Jewish, slept with her, and she later found out he was Muslim?
Absolutely bizarre; I couldn’t imagine how that turned out.
These issues are arising because of the “hook-up” culture in which people have sex with complete strangers after three minutes of conversation. Sad...
Except prostitutuion is illegal.
Well, yes. However, I think it would be interesting to run the idea through the civil courts, to see whether a legal distinction could be made between “prostitution” and “sex acts with a monetary value.”
Uh...looking at it the other way ‘round:what about prostitution charges? If they’re doing it for the money this applies.
Yeah, and unless you are dealing with a prostitute, lying to get them to have sex with you is not really fraud.
