Outlasting Bitterness
During the Second World War, Corrie ten Booms family owned a watchmaking business in the Netherlands, and they actively worked to protect Jewish families. Eventually, the entire ten Boom family was sent to a concentration camp, where Corries father died 10 days later. Her sister Betsie also died in the camp. While Betsie and Corrie were in the camp together, Betsies faith helped to strengthen Corries.
That faith led Corrie to forgive even the ruthless men who served as guards during her concentration camp days. While hate and the desire for revenge continued to destroy many lives long after the concentration camps were gone, Corrie knew the truth: Hate hurts the hater more than the hated, no matter how justified it may seem.
Like Corrie, we each have the opportunity to love our enemy and choose forgiveness. Forgiveness doesnt excuse the offense but when we forgive we show Christ to the world. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you (Eph. 4:32).
God will help you let go of every angry grudge as you watch the Spirit build into you a place where others see the Savior.
The love of God within our hearts
Enables us to show
Forgiveness that is undeserved
So others too might know. Sper
When we forgive someone, we look more like Jesus than at any other moment in our life.
Pauls letter to the Colossians was one of four letters Paul wrote while being held as a prisoner in Rome. These four letters, commonly called The Prison Epistles, consist of Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, and Philemon. The church letters went to three different destinations in two different regions of the ancient world. Philippians was directed to the church at Philippi, a city in Macedonia (ancient northern Greece), while Ephesians and Colossians were written to two cities (Ephesus, Colosse) in Asia Minor (modern Turkey). The personal letter to Philemon was also delivered to Colosse, where Philemon is believed to have lived, being actively involved in the church there. These letters were probably intended to be circular letters that were read and passed along to other churches.

Thanks!
The snow stopped in all areas, now the dangerous time.
Temps have reached 40 degrees and warmer the next 2 days.
Roofs are collapsing and flooding fears have now taken over.
Some areas have 8 feet of snow in a couple days.
We had little and can see grass in my yard.
Just crazy weather for November

Good evening, Mac...*HUGS*...and thank you.
A Blessed Lord’s Day to the MacNessa family.
A restful day? A good week with the train and walking?
It so looks like a snow sky, but no action yet, and little hope for some. But...it’s cold enough.

A good week on the train and at work, thanks! I'm really wiped out, though. I had a long walk from the train into the station yesterday morning - we had another train between us and the station.
This afternoon, a short sojourn to get firewood - we'll start the fire here in another hour or so.

This is the Arabic character "nun" the first letter of the word "Nazarene." I post it as my avatar in solidarity with people of all faiths suffering persecution at the hands of Islam. Many of them are members of the oldest of our Christian Communities, dating from the days of the Apostles. They endure cruel, merciless and unrelenting persecution. They are Orthodox and Catholic, Protestant and Evangelical, Coptic, Pentecostal, and Baptist. To the persecutors they, and we, are all "Nazarenes." |

Can't have Thanksgiving without Giving.
He gave first:
- Acts 14:..."We are bringing you good news, telling you to turn from these worthless things to the living God, who made heaven and earth and sea and everything in them. 16 In the past, he let all nations go their own way. 17 Yet he has not left himself without testimony: He has shown kindness by giving you rain from heaven and crops in their seasons; he provides you with plenty of food and fills your hearts with joy."
- John 3: "16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. "
And His instruction for us:
- Matthew 10:8 Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.
- 1 Thessalonians 5:18 give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.

Dear God: I ask that no Airman, Coast Guardsman, Marine, Sailor, Soldier, Reservist, National Guardsman, or Merchant Marine feel alone or forgotten.
O Israel, hope in the Lord; For with the Lord there is loving kindness, And with Him is abundant redemption. And He will redeem Israel From all his iniquities.

THE TORCH IS PASSED!>
Lt. John F. Kennedy, USN
Let the word go forth from this time and place, to friend and foe alike, that the torch has been passed to a new generation of Americans - born in this century, tempered by war, disciplined by a hard and bitter peace, proud of our ancient heritage - and unwilling to witness or permit the slow undoing of those human rights to which this nation has always been committed, and to which we are committed today at home and around the world. Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe to assure the survival and the success of liberty.
President John F. Kennedy, 29 May 1917 22 November 1963 |
