North Carolina Rep. G.K. Butterfield, who was elected chairman of the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) this week, told WUNC on Wednesday that the CBC is laser-focused on whats happening in Ferguson. He added, We are very, very concerned about it.
Butterfield, a former Superior Court judge and civil rights attorney, said in an interview with WUNC, the North Carolina Public Radio affiliate, that he expects a report from the grand jury in the Michael Brown shooting case next week.
I was a judge, as you probably know, for fifteen years in North Carolina and I presided over many grand juries, the congressman said. So I would certainly hope that the grand jury in Ferguson, Missouri, will find that there is sufficient evidence to conclude that a crime probably was committed, to lay out that crime, and to let a jury of twelve in Missouri decide the guilt or innocence of the police officer.
Butterfield didnt say whether he had seen any evidence indicating that a crime probably was committed. Nevertheless, he had a stern warning for the grand jury: If they turn their backs on justice there will be there will be pushback from those who are concerned about it and Im one of those whos concerned about it. There will be pushback. We will be asking questions.
The North Carolina congressmen, who has represented his district since 2004, said he hopes that any demonstrations in Ferguson will be peaceful and non-violent. And I would hope that law enforcement would not inflame citizens who want to express their First Amendment rights.
Funny, this Butterfulco guy doesn’t look very diverse?
CBC...Congressional Beige Caucus
From everything I've read, it is the exact opposite. The authorities and law enforcement are calling for calm and readying themselves for the worst from the protestors. It is the protestor groups and their race-hustling minions, from Obama, Holder and Sharpton on down the line, that are trying to gin up this grand jury decision into a racial thing, with Obama actually meeting with the protest leaders and telling them to stay the course.
Why in the world would the President of the United States, with so many other critical things on his plate right now, take time to meet with the protest leaders to encourage them to press on and egg them on to protest? I think I know why but this is so small-ball for a president to get involved in an incident like this. It's a wonder he hasn't opened his mouth and declared that Officer Wilson "acted stupidly" yet.
We could hope the Black Caucus finds a big black hole!
Whoopsie...it that racist?
Exactly!
You can make an idiot a community organizer but you can never take the community organizer out of______________.
Thanks for keeping me straight.

Well said...Nothing hard about that, it’s really simple.
The crime is how hussein, Holder, Jesse, Al, the racist black community, etc. are calling for violence, riots, looting, burning and killing Wilson and various officals.
None of these guys have ever had a real job, just hanging around on the corner BSing, or in the oval office. Holder was never qualified to be the AG..imho....he is as divisive as Zero.
It only takes a couple phone calls from Holder’s people to encourage GJ members to, as the usurper stated, “Stay the course.”
Is that the black “judge’s” mug? Geez. He’s a bigger fraud than Fauxcahontas. At least somebody in Fauxcahontas’ family had some “high cheekbones”. Dats a honky, man!
Yep, when this went down they all flocked to Ferguson like flies on dung, not to calm things or find the truth but to incite.
Perhaps the dark color he claims is in the thighs and legs which do not show on this picture. Many Chickens and Turkeys thus distribute the white and dark areas. He may indeed have chicken or turkey ancestry.
He’s racist.
He appears to be as white as I am..
perhaps he’s an “honorary” member of the black caucus...like clinton was the first “black” President>
