In a move that appears to be calculated to pacify rioters who have promised violence if Ferguson Police Officer Darren Wilson is not indicted for his role in the shooting death of Michael Brown, the Ferguson Grand Jury has announced that they have been unable to come to an agreement on the indictment
The grand jury left the justice center in St. Louis, Missouri, late Friday without having reached a decision on whether to indict Wilson who reportedly shot a robbery suspect, Michael Brown, when Brown attacked the officer.
Since the shooting, the St. Louis suburb has endured mass riots and looting. Many groups, including the Black Panthers, have promised violence if Wilson is not indicted for having shot the black teenager in August.
Autopsy reports support Wilsons account and Ferguson has been bracing for mass violence in recent days as the grand jury has been expected to hand down a refusal to indict. However, with the near-constant threat of mass violence looming, it may be that the grand jury has bowed to the threats of violence and property damage that would devastate their community and have been unable to come to an agreement.
President Obama spoke on Friday about the escalating situation in Ferguson:
This is a country that allows everybody to express their views, allows them to peacefully assemble, to protest actions that they think are unjust, Obama told ABC News. But using any event as an excuse for violence is contrary to rule of law and contrary to who we are.
Obama was apparently unaware of the irony of his lecturing on the value of the rule of law on the same day that he signed an executive order granting amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants without Congressional approval.
Is that the official announcement or speculation?
Well that’s a reasoned request I suppose.
Those kids are a big responsibility in a riot atmosphere.
I have a son going to grad school in Clayton. He is off and out of town this week. I selfishly hope this breaks soon as I am concerned for his safety as well.
I can understand that. I wish you folks well.
One of the many BS stories that’s making the rounds. The GJ hasn’t announced anything. The prosecutor said they’d finished meeting for the day and gone home.
Too.
I think a GJ just requires a majority for an indictment.
I seem to have read somewhere the prosecutor said unless something comes from his office consider it a rumor. Also reading local officials are erecting barricades today in front of county buildings in Clayton.
Why, of course. Then they all go get on the Witness Protection Proscam.
Meanwhile Al and Jesse have to fast figure out how to cancel the ribs and watermelon caterer.
Best may be for the jury to officially remain in session indefinitely while the jurors just go home and no announcement is ever made. Gradually the “authorities” just stop talking about it. The officer can be quietly separated from the force and be found a job in another location far away.
That was exactly my first thought!
The GJ won’t meet til monday but announcement tomorrow
“...........~~~the Ferguson Grand Jury has announced~~~ that they have been unable to come to an agreement on the indictment.......”
I am reasonably certain that this is just another MSM LIE!
For crying out loud.... the GJ went home for the weekend, just as they have been doing. I don’t believe that the GJ has “announced” anything.
lol The saga continues with the government officials though.
More likely DOJ (Holder and Obama) meddling. The DOJ threatened a bias charge against the DA if he couldn't/wouldn't indict. Pure case of strong-arm techniques that the Feds worked so hard to squash when the Mob was practicing. The Feds have become the Mob...
Missouri-9 of 12 jurors must vote in the affirmative to return a True Bill. This jury has until Jan.7, 2015 to decide...
January would be nice - nice and cold...
I trust NOTHING from CNN....ever.
I believe this is all a BS story in support of a faux headline.
Then why call in the Natiinal Guard now? They could be there til January now?
They sure have been putting up a lot of barricades this weekend. Looks like a lot of work for nothing to happen.
