President Obama's announcement tonight may bring a constitutional crisis, in the words of Rep. Mike Simpson (R-ID), but Republicans in Congress haven't the damndest idea what they'll do about it.
As they departed the House floor, many en route to the airport for a Thanksgiving recess, many GOP lawmakers seemed as interested in explaining why options floated by colleagues from their own party wouldn't work as denouncing what they describe as an unprecedented power grab by a president they just decimated at the ballot box.
That's the hundred million dollar question, said Rep. Pat Tiberi (R-OH), How do you stop an inaction? That's the tough question that I don't have the answer to today....Just to go a step further: 'shut the government down.' That doesn't stop this inaction. Don't fund immigration service. That doesn't stop this inaction. How do you stop this inaction?

They knew what Obama was going to announce last night years ago? Really? All of the details? Then by your logic they already know the outcome of the 2016 election too!
Let them have their holiday. They don’t take over until January anyway.
They haven’t taken exception to anything he’s done during his tenure as Impostor-In-Chief. They let it all slide!
You’re going to waiting for them to do something for a very, very, very long time.
We could have stopped much, but not all, of the conversion in 2012 by going for Romney. America missed the chance in spite of some of us patriots that tried to convince that we had to select the difference between King Obama and Romney. Idiots decided on King Obama.
“Its there. You just have to read it. I can see it on my posts just fine.”

Looking at your posting history, your tagline appeared for the FIRST time in Post 15 above at 1:39PM today. It wasn’t there on your opening post in this thread or earlier posts in other threads. So you were asking folks to look at something that was NOT, in fact, “there”.
Anyway, as others have pointed out, now is not a time to PANIC. Republicans are taking over the Senate and becoming more powerfully in control of the House come January. For now, they should simply avoid passing a CR or Omnibus bill that covers the budget for all of FY 2015 but, instead, one that carries forward only to March. Hit the ground running in January and hand the Obama regime and the ‘RATS their hats.
Republicans in Congress do not care to fight this issue - they're fully on board (despite what they say).
Big Business wants more cheap labor. Republicans & Democrats rarely say "no" to anything our corporate overlords want.
Nothing to see here. Move along.
No need for condescension.
They could have at least issued a strongly-worded statement Hans Blix-style!
The republicans are in a mine field right now, and frankly have been since Obama has taken office. First of all, he hasn’t signed anything yet, secondly, there is nothing the Republican cans do until they actually become the majority. I know this isn’t going to be popular but I think they have played their cards very well.
” We could have stopped much, but not all, of the conversion in 2012 by going for Romney. “
LMAO!!
Romney would have pushed amnesty from day one.
Sniveling GOP water-boys are concerned that you are showing to much passion!
They want you to WAIT AGAIN....wait for the GOP to get their vacay over, then WAIT until after Christmas, State of the Union, then when they start working with Obama, it will be WAIT, we need the Presidency to get anything done.
In 2015, 2016, they will be telling you VOTE FOR THE REPUBLICAN!
Like clock-work!
Apparently "constitutional crisis" isn't important enough to delay their vacation. And why should we deny them one? It's been what, almost two whole weeks since they last had a couple of months off?
Maybe you are right. However, we keep hearing that the shutdown was such a disaster last year, and the republicans won a majority in the senate????
Love that!
Oh no! A constitutional crisis, the worst we have ever seen!
Let go on vacation for a few months!!
How any Conservative votes for this sissified Republican Party is beyond me.
I read an interview with Senator Jeff Sessions given to the Weekly Standard last night; I believe the article was posted only a few minutes after Obama’s (amnesty of lies) speech. This was a phone call interview. Sessions said that he had not seen any plan as of yet to stop Obama of this abuse of power. He said he has seen no strong support in what they are going to do. So, today, reading this wasn’t a shocker. The establishment is happy to have the amnesty debate because they want much of the same as Obama wants. I think they are only angry that Obama backed them into a political box. if they save this country, it will be by accident or a miracle.
I agree. I am so tired of this. Wow. even when they win they act like they lost. They are clueless.
Everything has to wait until we see what's in the Executive Orders.
Because what Obama didn't say in his speech is, if anything, more important than what he did. There was nothing about work permits. No mention of Social Security numbers. Driver's licenses never came up. The "path to citizenship" was notable by its absence.
The only things El Presidente promised to illegals was freedom from deportation (temporarily) and the privilege of paying taxes.
In other words, to this point, the only thing he's guilty of is "excessive deployment of prosecutorial discretion as an excuse for inaction." That is, more of what he's already gotten away with. But nothing substantive from a constitutional standpoint.
