Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush called on Congress to pass bipartisan comprehensive amnesty legislation after President Barack Obama unilaterally granted nearly five million illegal immigrants executive amnesty on Thursday.

Misses the point.
Obama acted outside his constitutional authority;thus, creating a constitutional crisis.
What will the Republicans do? How will the Republicans act?
So far, they have given lip service at how awful Obama’s action was.

Obama set a disasterous precedent. Just like CJ Roberts did regarding Obamacare.
If the Congress does not reign in Obama and his amnesty, the Congress has basically made itself irrelevant on this and on any other issue where Obama wants to deem the Congress irrelevant.
Thanks all you FReepers who sat this one out because Jeb wasnt conservative enough for you. Its so called conservative FReepers like you that put Warren into office.
+1
Jeb bush and Rand Paul need to BBQ and eat Chris Christie, then both hold hands and jump off a very tall cliff!
Jeb....
It’s long past time for you to STFU about this subject. The amnesty piece is done. No more about “paths to fecking ANYTHING.”
Immigration enforcement and border security must be the only components of any immigration-related legislation going forward.
So Obam throws a temper tantrum and Republicans are expected to cave in to the misbehaving infant?
So, which one is which?
Jeb is one of the most vocal advocates of Common Core and Amnesty.
I don't agree — there is no gain if we put into Congress people who are functionally identical to the ones currently therein. IOW, the (R) is meaningless if there's nothing to differentiate from the (D). [Look at Jeb Bush and Mitt Romney for examples.]
I realize that a lot of people arent bright enough to figure that out but it is what it is.
I figured it out: The GOP is essentially running on reputation, with no intent of standing for what it claims to stand for.
The Bushbots are awake and already starting their propaganda posts for ole Jeb.
‘If you don’t vote for Jeb, we get Warren.’

Glad that's over with.
Hear! Hear!
” The Bushbots are awake and already starting their propaganda posts for ole Jeb.”
FR RINOS on parade!
Good idea about calling State AG’s.
Texas and OK are joining filing lawsuits as we speak.
Well said.
Aside from being a putz, jeb is a rino-supreme wanting amnesty and core-curriculum. If anyone would vote for this quisling they must be mentally impaired.
Wow the ink not even dry on Obama’s EO and Jed can’t wait to show his back side to the Thespian and chief.
The biggest risk is from busy people who don’t follow politics like we do. People who are low information voters for a variety of reasons. They assume that Jeb must be on their side simply because he has an R after his name.
Run Jeb, run!
Is it wrong to want to watch him get run over, in a figurative kind of way?
Look, we should be grateful that he isn’t hiding his insanity.
Run RINOs, run!
Well, given the tone of the comments so far in here I’m sure this will fall on deaf ears, but....I think Jeb Bush is right. The GOP Congress needs to put forth a bill that provides amnesty of some form for many here now illegally.
Why? Because this battle can be fought successfully at the state level by Red-state governors then. The problem right now is that there truly are classes of illegals here now who will never be deported, and who shouldn’t be.
The GOP should put forth a simple bill that specifies the exact circumstances which must exist for an illegal alien to avoid deportation, while providing them a path to citizenship in some cases, or just a green card in other cases. As additional cases with different circumstances arose, they should be considered in additional Congressional bills. In other words, Congress should take all discretion in the matter away from the Executive Branch and make the decisions by majority vote of both houses of Congress.
Again, why do this? Because then, if the President won’t enforce the law, the Governor’s can (if they choose to do so.) The red state legislators can pass relatively straightforward laws that discourage the remaining illegals (those not qualifying for amnesty under the Congressional acts) from living in their state. Let them all migrate to the Blue States, if those states won’t do anything to stop them.
If the GOP Congress puts forth a simple amnesty bill that, for example, puts a current illegal who has lived here since early childhood, graduated from our schools, has no felonies, etc., on a path to citizenship instead of deportation, will Obama veto it? I doubt it, because doing so would certainly damage his image among Hispanics.
Similarly, if the GOP Congress offers an amnesty bill that grants a green card to every illegal who has lived and worked here as an adult for, say, the last 10 years, but leaves the path to citizenship out of the matter entirely (i.e., leaves the matter of citizenship to current law), will Obama veto it? Again, I doubt it, for he would certainly anger the Hispanic constituency by doing so.
As unexpected, and highly sympathetic, circumstances arose following the initial passage of the bill(s), Congress should immediately address them and include them in the amnesty after debating the matter, provided the facts justify that move of course.
If this were done, the Governor’s could enforce the law, as written, by chasing illegals from their states by any of several measures. Today, they can’t do so without being portrayed as monsters for tearing apart families, destroying the lives of illegals who were brought here as children, etc.
And, instead of a 500 page amnesty bill, take each circumstance one at a time and debate it as a separate bill. In doing so, the GOP will be being both reasonable and responsible, and I believe the vast majority of us will come to respect the process as a result.
It would have to be a new Senate and new House bill that rolls back Obama’s EO and protects the borders and American jobs.
#18 That is funny and so true.
I wish also not to see the same news readers on the corrupt media for decades.
Funny how Jebby and his buddy 0bola are all about “passing an Amnesty bill”, today, isn’t it?
Rather than suggest a bill, why not first condemn 0bola’s un-Constitutional EO move, Jebby? Oh, wait...Dana PeRINO claims it’s NOT un-Constitutional. Jeez.
