House Speaker John Boehner, who warned after the recent midterm elections that executive action on immigration reform would "poison the well," has issued a statement in response to President Obama's announcement and decision to move forward with changes in immigration law without Congress, saying Obama has "cemented his legacy of lawlessness."
The American people want both parties to focus on solving problems together; they dont support unilateral action from a president who is more interested in partisan politics than working with the peoples elected representatives. That is not how American democracy works. Not long ago, President Obama said the unilateral action he just announced was not an option and claimed hed already done everything that I can on my own. He said it would lead to a surge in more illegal immigration. He said he was not a king and not the emperor and that he was bound by the Constitution. He said an action like this would exceed his authority and be difficult to justify legally. He may have changed his position, but that doesnt change the Constitution," Boehner said. By ignoring the will of the American people, President Obama has cemented his legacy of lawlessness and squandered what little credibility he had left. His my way or the highway approach makes it harder to build the trust with the American people that is necessary to get things done on behalf of the country. Republicans are left with the serious responsibility of upholding our oath of office. We will not shrink from this duty, because our allegiance lies with the American people. We will listen to them, work with our members, and protect the Constitution."
Obama is trying to prove to even STUPID AMERICANS that Democrats and Blacks don’t really like following LAWS!!
IMPEACH the 0! >>>>
If anyone deserves impeachment it's 0bama, but he is setting a trap for the republicans, because that is exactly what that arrogant pos wants the Republicans to do besides shutting the government down. We must not fall into the trap
If we do then the rats will get their power back and it will even be larger then it was before.
Michelle Bachmann: 'Melt the Phone Lines' Against Exec Amnesty / Ian Hanchett (on Twitter @IanHanchett)
Congresswoman Michele Bachmann (R-MN) on Fox's "Hannity" urged members of the public to "melt the phone lines" to defund President Obama's executive order on immigration.
"Congress has a responsibility to uphold the laws of the land as well, and we can defund this president's illegal amnesty. That's what we must do. We can't do it alone. We can't do it alone. We need your viewers."
(A) Congress will be back December 1st through December 11th. This will be decided in that period of time. We need to have your viewers melt the phone lines. Congress isn't here, they're gone from Washington tonight, but from December 1st to the 11th we need them to melt the phone lines and say 'defund amnesty.'
(B) We need Americans to go to Senators' and Congressman's office. I'm calling on your viewers to come to DC on Wednesday, December 3rd at high noon on the west steps of the Capitol to rally, and to go Senators and Congressmen because nothing frightens a congressman like the whites of his constituents' eyes" she said.
Bachmann added, "when I was watching this speech, I felt like I was watching Jonathan Gruber---because all I heard was contempt for the American people--- as though Obama thought we were so stupid, that somehow he could say that his illegal actions were legal and we would all turn over, roll over, and believe it."

Blah BLAH BLAH.
Just words, Sobbin’ John.
What are you going to *do*?
Boehner has already cemented his as spineless. I’d like to see a comprehensive immigration bill submitted to King Dick with an amendment attached to it to repeal all of obamacare to see what he does.
The problem is John that you want to play by the rules while your opponent is playing anything goes. Until you realize that turn about is fair play and start implementing laws by majority vote only (51), including bypassing the president by majority vote only, then we will continue to lose. This is not a game, it’s life. Suck it up or get out of he way and let an adult take over.
Kaslin, they don’t want to wait and see. There’s a group on FR who insists on being miserable, on not enjoying any of the 2014 mid term successes - and think it’s somehow original or pithy to just come in with their normal drive by cynical whining.
Now I don’t know what Boehner is willing to do - cannot stand the man frankly -
but I know that Gohmert and Gowdy and Wilson and some other very conservative voices are going to push him to stand up to the President. Ditto Sessions and Cruz and Lee vis a vis McConnell.
now that’s thinking outside the box......
I read it yesterday, but like I said we must not fall into the trap, because that is exactly what that arrogant pos wants the republicans to do.
What is going down in Ferguson makes me believe that blacks want a hands-off policy when it comes to law enforcement. Push drugs? No problem. Rob your mother? No problem. Sell your daughter to prostitution? No problem. Grab a few cigars in the convenience store? No problem. Walk down the road holding up traffic? No problem. Grab an officer’s gun? No problem. Life in the concrete jungle.
Melt up the lines, great idea. Just make sure you tell them your name is Jose or Juan. And you don’t want no stinking dictator.

People have had it with Boehner and his empty threats, the dude is ineffectual and needs to get the hell out.
Jungle is the operative word, sadly.
Maybe.
But, experience has taught us not to be optimistic.
The dude is protected from impeachment by his skin color. No one wants our nation’s history to include that the first black president was impeached.
I watched it and she was exactly right
Thanks
I don’t disagree with that - but there’s a HUGE GULF between being optimistic - and being knee jerk negative and just hammering the forum day after day after day with little drive by comments (NOT accusing you of that, but many on FR are guilty of this).
I’ve written about the problems with the GOP e for 23 years - I get it - but things do change after some elections.
