Sen. Lindsey O. Graham (R-S.C.) winced as he listened to comments from Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) in reaction to President Obamas plans to protect undocumented immigrants from deportation.
Unfortunate, unfair, unnecessary, unwise, Graham said.
Earlier Wednesday, Bachmann, a retiring tea-party firebrand, had declared that those immigrants covered by the policies that the president would announce Thursday would become illiterate voters.
For Republicans the roiling debate over the presidents decision is not only a fight with the White House, but a test of whether they can contain some of the unhelpful passions among their swelling majorities in both chambers. The task is keeping on-message and away from the controversial and sometimes offensive comments that have traditionally hindered attempts to bolster support for the party among Hispanics.

GOPe is doing nothing to stop 0bola’s amnesty. It’s a win-win for 0, Dims and the GOPe....0 gets his way and the Reps don’t have to worry about this vote being on their record.
This amnesty almost guarantees the end of the Republican party. Who’s going to continue to vote for them? Not us. We’ve finally come to realize that voting for “the lesser evil” does no good. We’re told there is no mandate from this past election.
So, what’s in it for Republican *Representatives*? They receive their 20 pieces of silver...and then what?
I.m seeing new illegal families at work today that are whoopin it up, buying balloons, celebration stuff.
HEB is probably busier than usual....selling all of the party supplies/drinks/food, etc to illegals...celebrating all things amnesty.
Be careful, illegals....you’re simply trading one Dictator for another.
¡No es muy inteligente!
I’ve seen lots and lots of people make various political vows here in the wake of the barrage of disgusting news.
I haven’t seen anyone make any religious vows and hardly anyone reasserting belief.
God is going to let the crap come until we get serious about Him again.
Well, that's one promise he'll be able to check off.
Back to the window it was supposed to go in.
I agree completely.
At the very least, voting in the primary gives you some voice on what choices you will have in the general election. If you don't register with a Party, you get to choose between what the Party regulars have elected in the primary. Give yourself more voice by registering for a Party and voting in the primary.
Better yet, get active in a Party. I was a Precinct Committeeman for years, until I got too old to do door-to-door campaigning. I was Central Committee Chairman for 2 terms. Being involved in Party politics means you can influence things at the grassroots level. It also means you help choose candidates for local offices and judgeships. You even have a voice in candidates for state offices.
Instead of complaining, get involved.

A third party is needed for 2016. It on;y took 1 day to see what the Wild Turkey Necks (Boner & McIdiot) were going to do. They would make a good dog. Lay down and roll over.
Yep. I’ve tried to say many times here that sometimes you need to not improve the party from within, but start a new one. It was mentioned in 2012 that the new rules changes at the R convention, had they been in place back in the day, would have prevented Reagan from being the nominee in 1980.
