Gutierrez to GOP: ‘Stop Whining’

Democratic congressman Luis Gutierrez had two words for Republican lawmakers condemning President Obama’s executive amnesty: “Stop whining.”

In an interview on Thursday with MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell, the Illinois representative dismissed the constitutional concerns voiced by Senate majority leader Mitch McConnell and other Republicans over the White House’s unilateral push to legalize millions of illegal immigrants.

“Mitch McConnell — they should stop whining, and they should start legislating, and start saying what they’re going to do,” Gutierrez said. “They have an incredible victory in the Senate, an incredible new majority in the House of Representatives. Use it to do something constructive!”

"And you can ignore the power and influence of Gohmert, Gowdy, Cruz, Lee, Sessions if you want to, but there are some good folks up there willing to fight this thing, and fight McConnell and Boehner if they have to."

Sure when I was kid "Fantasy Land" was real to me.

Buoyed by a GOP wave election, Ohio Republican Rep. John Boehner on Thursday cruised to another two years as Speaker of the House.

After Republicans captured their biggest House majority since the 1920s, not one of his conservative critics launched a last-minute bid to challenge Boehner for the top job. Via the Hill.com

"President Obama’s executive amnesty"

One of the most ironic things about Obola's plan, is how bad it will impact the black community. They are the ones who stand to lose the most jobs because of this idiot's actions.

Keep your misery to yourself. It’s not like being angry and frustrated at the GOP e is a new concept.

I’m a Cruz Republican. If you insist on being a McConnell Boehner phobe, knock yourself out.

Not just blacks, but also low-wage uneducated whites. Now is our chance to finally divide the Dems' base and use that to our advantage.

Is this little pr!ck even an American? It sure doesn't seem like it.

He is more like a Mexican Caudillo - corrupt, haughty, tyrannical, self-serving. Or maybe he just heads up one of those Shitcago Mexican cartels we hear so much about lately.

Either way, he is a complete loser.

I think Al Sharpton wears that crown.

Sharpton is as race hustler. Gutierrez is an ethnic hustler. There is a difference.

I am so sick of hearing this.

Is there anywhere to find a list of everything Harry Reid has tabled these past 6 years? These are the things needed to fight back. Don't just say Reid tabled bills. I want them to say what bills were tabled, the substance of the bills and why Reid tabled them.

Something like:
“Want to talk about legislating? Fine, we can talk. In the past 6 years, Harry Reid tabled x out of y number of bill sent over by the House. Why? Because he knew the bills would pass and his allegiance was to what was best politically for Obama, not what was good for the nation. Want to talk about anything else?”

Jeb Bush: Time for GOP Congress to Pass Amnesty Bill

20 Nov 2014

by Tony Lee 20 Nov 2014 101 post a comment
Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush called on Congress to pass bipartisan comprehensive amnesty legislation after President Barack Obama unilaterally granted nearly five million illegal immigrants executive amnesty on Thursday.

Bush, a potential 2016 presidential candidate who has come under fire for his support for comprehensive amnesty legislation and Common Core, said Obama’s “ill-advised unilateral action on illegal immigration undermines all efforts to forge a permanent solution to this crisis.”

But he said the GOP-led Congress should act on a comprehensive amnesty bill.

If you are asking, I am for the answers that Rep Steve King has in replying to Obama’s illegal amnesty. And I believe that the top Rinos in the GOP will resist such moves.

King: Censure or shut down, but don’t impeach

By David McCabe

Conservative Republican Rep. Steve King says censuring the president or shutting down the government are potential responses to new executive actions on immigration reform — and impeachment shouldn’t be.

“But I don’t want to do the last thing. I don’t want to do the ‘I-word.’ Nobody wants to throw the nation into that kind of turmoil,” the Iowa lawmaker said on CNN Thursday night.

King had seemed slightly more open to the idea earlier in the week.

“We have constitutional authority to do a string of things. That would be the very last option, but I would not rule it out,” he told CNN’s Jake Tapper on Wednesday.

But speaking after President Obama unveiled his plan halt the deportations of millions, King said censure could be an option for frustrated House Republicans.

“The second one could potentially — could be a censure for the president of the United States. That’s not happened in more than a century, and that would be at least a direct message to the president,” he said.

The only president in history to be sanctioned was Andrew Jackson, in 1834.

King also said that Republicans could shut down the government over the issue.

“I want to fund this government, I want to keep this government open,” he said, “but if they ask me to vote for an appropriations bill that funds an unconstitutional act on the part of the president of the United States, I’m bound by my oath, as he should have been bound by his.”

King is one of the House’s most anti-reform members and has been aggressively opposed to any sort of executive action.

Obama’s order will offer legal status to some illegal immigrants and make other changes to the immigration system.

Republicans ATTACK Steve King over ‘illegals being drug mules’ comment; King DOUBLES DOWN
Posted on Jul 24, 2013 at 1:08 PM in Politics | 79 Comments
By The Right Scoop

Steve King was interviewed by Newsmax last week where he pointed out that a lot of the children here illegally have come here as drug mules, hauling marijuana across the desert:

Some of them are valedictorians — and their parents brought them in. It wasn’t their fault. It’s true in some cases, but they aren’t all valedictorians. They weren’t all brought in by their parents.

For everyone who’s a valedictorian, there’s another 100 out there that weigh 130 pounds and they’ve got calves the size of cantaloupes because they’re hauling 75 pounds of marijuana across the desert. Those people would be legalized with the same act.

Listen to his full comments on this issue:

Clearly he was dismantling the pro-amnesty merit-based argument about valedictorians by pointing out that not all children of illegals are valedictorians, that there are many who came here as drug mules. He’s defending his argument that the rule of law must not be broken.

But the Republican leadership jumped all over him for making these comments, as if they are trying to intentionally distance themselves so they won’t give fuel to their critics:

Republican House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, who is working on legislation to offer a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants who were brought to the U.S. as children, called King’s comments inexcusable.

House Speaker John Boehner called them “hateful.”

“What he said is wrong,” Boehner said. “There can be honest disagreements about policy without using hateful language.”

Even Trey Gowdy jumped on King:

After the hearing, Gowdy, who chairs the Immigration and Border Security subcommittee, called King’s comments to Newsmax “reprehensible.”

When asked how Republicans, particularly those in leadership, can reach out to members like King and implore them to keep inflamatory rhetoric at bay, Gowdy said flatly, “You can’t.”
And while King has said he has the muscle to sink any piecemeal immigration bill, Gowdy scoffed.

“The number of people who have a Steve King precise ideology on immigration isn’t going to be sufficient to sink anything.”

The problem here is I’m probably 15-20 years ahead of you on understanding the GOP E - and what is seemingly fresh and new info to you are realities I started writing about in 1992.

That’s why your posts to me are non sequiturs. You’re not even up to speed enough to know where you and I agree, and what my point is.
