WASHINGTON Republicans on Thursday vowed a swift and forceful response to the executive action on immigration that President Obama is to announce in a prime-time address, accusing the president of exceeding the power of his office and promising a legislative fight when they take full control of Congress next year.
Senator Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, who will become majority leader in January, said in a speech on the Senate floor Thursday morning that Mr. Obama would regret choosing to ignore the wishes of the American people.
If President Obama acts in defiance of the people and imposes his will on the country, Congress will act, Mr. McConnell said just hours before the president was scheduled to speak to the nation on television. Were considering a variety of options. But make no mistake. Make no mistake. When the newly elected representatives of the people take their seats, they will act.

Mitch, why should we believe you now?
You sucked as a Majority leader then,
Why will this time be any different?
Yeah sure they do. I would laugh at that headline, just cannot find it to laugh at this garbage. HORRIBLE!!
Promises?
Uhm, sure...they’re about as useful as teats on a bull.
Unless and until the GOP ACTS and MOVES against the usurper, I have little confidence in what they say...
Actions, not words!
with a strongly worded message I’m sure. /s
What are they going to do, deliver a raspberry to Barack by voice vote?
This would be impeachment time if there was any integrity left. Integrity? Whuzzat?
The GOP will cave, it is not a question of if but when.
Probably go something like this...They talk tough and say all the right things until the MSM (including Fox) release their phony polls saying they have to go along or pay politically.
The polls will be lies, but they will come and the GOP will cave.
We already have people like Britt Hume already starting to get the ball rolling, unfortunate because a few years ago Britt was one of my faves. Britt actually believes what he is saying.
The phony polls do become reality once they are released/published...like the man said, the American people are stupid, is not much hope at least politically
The illegal immigrants have the big walnuts to go and protest on the steps of Capitol Hill so where the hell are the Americans protesting this atrocity in Las Vegas! There should’ve been droves of people waiting on the strip for Obama with pitchforks ....where are they?? Why wasn’t there a bodybuilding protest summonsed by American leaders to protest this bastard?!! UGH!!! Obama is a narcissist that needs to be shown the hand of the American people! The election meant nothing to him because he sees it in the invisible but if you make it visible he’ll be shaking in his loafers!!
Tonight the Republicans will define themselves.
Hey Mitchyboy... choosing to ignore the will of the people?? HOW ABOUT DELIBERATELY IGNORING THE DOGGONE UNITED STATES CONSTITUTION????
Golly it’s going to be a rough ride!
Here is my suggestion, if Obama can direct his agencies to use “prosecutorial discretion” to not go after whole categories of illegal aliens...
Republicans in congress should come out strongly with a unified statement that such persons will pursued by a future chief executive AND that any federal employees who knowingly violate existing law to give these people SSN# or working papers, etc, will also be prosecuted to the full extent of the law for their participation as accomplices is this scheme.
At least put a little scare in the administrative clerks and kooks who would do his bidding.
You beat me to it with your comments. Talk is cheap. We’ll see. I’ll never forget when a critical vote was taken in the Senate a year or so ago and the Dems kicked butt. Mitch McConnell was asked for his reaction and if he was giving up the fight on that particular issue. I will never forget his response. He said: “This is not a day to fight; this is a day to be sad.”
WHAT???? Are you freakin’ kidding me? “A day to be sad”??? Shut up you wuss!
"We" already did, Senator ... when we elected a Congress that would reelect you and Boehner as the "leaders" of the majority by acclamation.
He may well be right.
LOL
