Well, if one is going to arbitrarily eliminate almost 100 million working age Americans without jobs from the definition of "unemployed" I gues you can get to whatever unemployment numbers you want.

RE: . Initial claims printed 291k (against 284k expectations) down very slightly from an upwardly revised 293k last week.

It was reported to be 290,000 last week, which means they’ve revised it UPWARDS again (by 3,000 ). I’ve never seen a downward revision during these 5 years I’ve been looking at this jobless claims number.

And it's not just fancy Target, banks are closing branches, unless of course it's Chase who seem to be the Walgreen's of banks, Sears and all sorts of other businesses are going belly up across the country.
