A clearer picture of the strategy Republicans in both the House and the Senate will use to stop President Barack Obamas planned executive amnesty in government funding bills is beginning to emerge.
The key point is that no matter what package emerges, there seems to be a consensus emerging among Republicans on Capitol Hill: There will be no funding for Obamas planned executive amnesty. Theres a number of different ways that can happen.
First, there could be a short-term Continuing Resolution passed that funds all of government from Dec. 11when current funding measures enduntil shortly after the newly-elect Senate GOP majority takes office in early 2015. At that point, the Senate and House Republicans would block Obamas planned immigration executive order in some fashioneither in a bill that funds all of the rest of government except for that or by splitting various Appropriations bills into different packages that separates funding the Department of Homeland Security out from the rest of government.
Another possibility is that there may be some kind of effort to cut the funding for Obamas planned executive amnesty in the lame duck session of Congress now, but that effort would likely be thwarted as one of the last acts of outgoing Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.

“The last time the republicans shut down the government they gained more seats in the house in the next election!”
Shhhh! You’ll ruin the delusional government-shutdown urban legend pushed by liberals and RINOs.
Yes, you are correct! We tried. Yes, this is our world.
These numbers represent complete fabrications. They know they’re talking about more than five million. They know there are about 25 to 40 million people.
The revised census for 2000 pegged illegal immigrants at 9 million. If 9 million could come over in ten years, why would we think less would come over in the next ten? Add to this mix the reality that after George Bush announced his support for an amnesty, the flow across our border went ballistic.
In one nine month stretch, 900,000 illegals were caught in one sector alone. Remember that the old INS or today’s ICE stated that they generally only apprehend 10% of those crossing our border. 900,000 in nine months converts to 1.2 million for twelve. Even if they improved on the apprehensions and caught 50% (never going to happen), that would still mean 1.2 million successful crossings
Time stated they thought there were 3.0 million crossing our border each year.
So now the government claims we only added 2 million since 2000? Why yes, that’s what they want us to believe.
We’ve had 1.5 to 2.5 million illegals coming across for at least half that time. As the economy turned down, we might have seen a drop off. I’d still say there’s easily 1 million coming across each year.
We have today around 25 to 40 million illegals inside the U. S. California probably has 10 million inside it’s borders alone.
And/or have governors not permit fed to enter the state and choose not to enforce his EO.
Everyday ... ??? Guess What? It comes down to ‘Guess What’?
If someone called you racist or laughed...they simply weren’t paying attention to what was going on around them. I would say that what you have been saying is aware...and prescient.
We don’t live in the same state, but deal with many of the same problems. I have seen large areas of major cities become “Mexico-ized”. I don’t mean that to be racist. I mean the areas look like Mexico (and I don’t mean the tourist areas), billboards in Spanish, schools forced to teach in Spanish. When the protests happened a couple of years ago I was amazed. The streets were flooded. Aren’t these people supposed to be “hiding in the shadows”?
With chain migration...we will be sunk. Other states will see this occurrence ...if they haven’t already.
Thanks Trisham.
On Fox, Cruz says GOP should attach riders to appropriations bills to block Obama on immigration exec. order.
Thanks. Take care.
All rational thoughts, No they don’t live in the shadows. They know that their rights will be protected over our own.
That’s one tactic. No bill goes through unless he recants.
I don’t want to see something stand for even one day, because some lawyer will use it as an excuse to say we aren’t being fair by striking down something offered.
This has to be very quick.
I want to see an immediate case before the Supreme Court, so an injunction will prevent this from becoming the law of the land.
....” the truth is, the Republican leadership is only interested in blocking Obamas plan. They want to implement their own plan”.....
Well currently we have no other option they’re willing to do....so I’m for anything that blocks him at this point.
At any rate the Healthcare System has needed ‘reform’...and so does our immigration system....the problem is they have both grown to such huge entities and corruption so great nobody has wanted to tackle them for decades now.
I’ve often thought possible the trade has been the Demorats get to change the healthcare system and the Republicans the immigration system......for if they do stop this then it will fall into the Republicans lap to figure out in two years.
"A coalition of national religious leaders and immigrant-rights activists are planning a conference call Thursday morning ahead of Obamas scheduled 8 p.m. address "to insist that the number of people covered be increased." Presente.org, a Latino grassroots group, 'vented' in a statement that the 5 million figure would not even deal with half of the problem we currently face.
Its heartbreaking to see the reaction of young people who have put everything on the line to make sure their parents are a part of this announcement and to be within 24 to 48 hours of hearing the final announcement and thinking they may not make it, and to see their reaction, said Praeli, an immigrant from Peru who is United We Dreams director of advocacy and policy."
But she added: Were going to continue to push, and were going to continue to organize and build power.

” I want to see an immediate case before the Supreme Court, so an injunction will prevent this from becoming the law of the land.”
Yes
Damn straight!
Nothing else will work in time to stop the phony Obama ID’s.
I agree. This has to be nipped in the bud phase, or sympathy will trump everything.
