President Obama is expected to announce his executive order to grant legal status for millions of illegal immigrants in an address Thursday night, according to sources close to the administration.
Mr. Obama will give a broad outline of his action Thursday and follow it up with a trip Friday to Las Vegas to provide more details.
The White House would not confirm the report Wednesday morning, nor have Mr. Obama’s aides announced any travel plans for later this week.
But a spokesman for the AFL-CIO inadvertently disclosed the tentative plans in an email Wednesday.
“We hear there will be a prime time Thursday evening announcement [to preview] and full unveiling in Vegas on Friday,” AFL-CIO spokesman Jeff Hauser wrote in an email to members, a message that was also inadvertently sent to reporters. “Can folks begin to work and plan watch parties for Thursday and/or Friday? Unclear whether Thursday night content will be what is ‘celebratory,’ but Friday will be where we need a lot of energy guaranteed.”

It would be nice to think the Republicans would have their plan in order, so they could march up to a microphone seconds after Obama quits reading, and explain how they are going to stop his unconstitutional actions.

I expect about 72 hours of low-grade whimper-fest, if that.
If Boehner does anything, it will more than likely consist of a bold statement, almost believable, then the crying towel within 48 hours as he apologizes for insulting someone’s sensitivities.
Of course McConnell will express his willingness to come to some sort of a compromise. It will consist of doing exactly what Obama has suggested, only it will no longer be referenced as amnesty. It will simply be a “transition”.
McCain will walk up to a microphone and announce he’s part of a gang again.
