Looks like the Dems are the party of “no”.
When the GOP Senate is seated in January there will be 55 yes votes right out of the chute, assuming Cassidy wins the LA runoff.
Then only five Dems are needed for cloture and passage.
Then an additional 7 would be needed for an override veto.
Once the unions realize the Dems sold them down the river once again, and the American people start calling their Senators in January, the tide could easily turn, especially after Obama vetoes.
Once Obama vetoes the pipeline, I think there will be a lot of opposition to the Dems and Obama, if the GOP plays it right and does a good PR campaign.
Amazingly, the Dems did not come together to help Mary Landrieu, who has been there for 18 years.
Nobody wanted to stand next to her when the vote was on, except for Mark Begich, who voted yes. His vote will be replaced with a yes vote in January by Sullivan.
Yes, January 3rd will be the start of a new era in DC for the Senate.
It will not be the crap we have had to endure for the last 8 years with Reid at the helm.

Mary Landrieu has been worked over by Obama/Reid!!! What a setup to throw Landrieu under the bus...the game was set and rigged from the outsset. If Landrieu had any real brains, she would announce tomorrow morning that she will withdraw from the special election runoff and concede the Louisiana Senate seat to Bill Cassidy.
The latest polls across the state indicate a most embarassing political slaughter will befall Landieu, come Staurday, December 6, 2014!!! I sincerely hope that every Louisiana voter will turn out by the hundreds of thousands, and cast their vote against Mary Landrieu for her being the number one “Obama” butt kisser and gving him a winning vote on Obamacare, going against the voters in her own state.
And......for all that Obama support...all she got in return was to be set up and thrown under the bus by Obama and her Senate leader, Harry Reid!!! Other Democrats take note........you folks are the political party that has real internal problems......not the Pubbies!!!

As a conservative I do not support the right of any foreign corporation, or crony of any USA politicians to force our American citizens to give up their property rights for a token right of way fee, just so they can profit.
Nor do I support the right of these same foreign corporations to use our country as a right of way to send their oil to Europe or China. But that’s just me and what I strongly believe.
I do not and will never sign on to the official menu of the Republican corporate establishment Party. I maintain the right to my own opinion and beliefs.
With some significant changes such as rewarding landowners with significant ongoing usage fees (instead of one cheap right of way fee) and limits on export of this oil I could support it.
