The only surprising thing about Obamacare architect Jonathan Grubers revelations that the legislation was based on a series of lies and voter stupidity was that Mr. Gruber was so stupid to think no one would see the videos of him saying so.
The good news is that, perhaps, many more Americans will wake up to the fact that Obamacare is not the only hoax they have been subjected to, and will be much more skeptical about policy experts snake oil. Most of these schemes increase the power and money flowing to the political class and their experts, while robbing the pocketbooks and liberties of the people.
The great economist F.A. Hayek (1899-1992) argued there was a limit to what any one person or even groups of people could know, which was one reason socialist planning always failed. His 1974 Nobel Prize lecture ended with the following sentence: The recognition of the insuperable limits to his knowledge ought indeed to teach the student of society a lesson of humility, which should guard him against becoming an accomplice in mens fatal striving to control society a striving which makes him not only a tyrant over his fellows, but which may well make him the destroyer of a civilization which no brain has designed, but which has grown from the free efforts of millions of individuals.
Washington, Paris, London, Moscow, Beijing and Tokyo are rife with experts who claim they are smarter than markets and know what is best for others. The whole socialist and big-government ideal is predicated on the notion that the intellectuals can bring us nirvana but something always goes wrong. Yet, blissfully, without self-doubt, they go from failure to failure to failure, as others pay the price.

As far as I’m concerned, anyone who believes in a big government is not an intellectual. They know nothing of history and just play with theories that have no basis in really. When they call themselves “intellectuals”, it’s just self-flattery.
“The good news is that, perhaps, many more Americans will wake up to the fact that Obamacare is not the only hoax they have been subjected to,”
I have wondered if Global Warming could be another one where they not being 100% honest.

I doubt that. Most are trying to figure out excuses for
the lies. I have a crazy tard friend that swears there
were no WMD’s in Iraq. Now that its been outed that they
were there his excuse is Dick Cheney or Karl Rove put them
there to make the Obama look bad. You are talking about
people who believe all liberal lies knowing all along that
they are lies but justified, like muslims.
Keep in mind that's not a suggestion so much as an observation, but a few torchlight parades with an abundance of primitive farm implements might be in order.
RE: I have wondered if Global Warming could be another one where they not being 100% honest.
Here’s a hint — why aren’t they using the term “Global Warming” nowadays?
Every place you hear, it’s the all encompassing term — CLIMATE CHANGE.
I don't wonder. What is not distorted, cherry picked data is generally lies.
One of my favorite thoughts on the subject is simply: Government has grown so ponderous its left hand cannot follow what its right hand does.
The stupidity of experts: Liberals never own up when their policies fail....
FTFY

I believe a lot of them ARE being honest -- the problem is not that they are dishonest, it is that they are deluded. They are convinced that they can control and understand things they actually haven't figured out yet, that they literally can't see the contrary evidence, or are convinced it's just smoke and mirrors.
Which is not to say none of them are dishonest; there are some scammers in there. But IMHO, most liberals are True Believers -- they're just putting their faith in the totally wrong things, and trying to twist reality to fit.
I honestly believe that the Bible is reality, talks about reality, but I also know that humans can misread things and confuse the issue, and that, once someone is convinced a Bible verse means "this", it can be hard to look past that prior belief to see what it actually means in context. If people who generally live in the real world can be totally wrong about one aspect of it, it's not surprising that people who live in a fantasy world that the real world had repeatedly contradicted ("Big Government will save us"), right regularly don't see the reality staring them in the face.
The 5 page US Constitution was written by amateurs and has worked well for 227 years.
The 1,990 page Affordable Health Care for America Act (Obamacare) was written by “experts” and has never worked.
Being a leftist means never having to say you’re sorry.
I'm re-reading it for the third time right now.
Paul Johnson's a brilliant historian.
What progressive EVER admits failure, or wrongness, or ignorance?
Basically none, ever. It’s someone else’s fault. They were misled. No one told them. We should have known better. What does it matter?
Their narcissistic, egotistical haughtiness is their core being.
Great point!
Congrats!
They’re not intelligent, they’re intelligentsia.
We dumb little drones fail the experts when we refuse to robotically follow their grand designs.
