I thought the recent surge in zombie flicks and shows, and sale of zombie gear, was so ridiculous until I realized it was a great way to gear up for ferals while posing as a “zombie prepper”. When I would take my kids out on hikes I’d always tell them to look out for ChiComs (instead of our likely adversaries - wanted to spare them that when they were young), but that never seemed realistic in the woods along the NJ/NY border. This zombie craze makes it more plausible and fun!
(The edged weapons I see in catalogs now for zombie fighting are great, but too many neon colors)
Couple of things - google “john derbyshire the talk” and see if your kids are prepared for “the talk”. This has been HEAVILY derided by the left as “racist”, but it is simply common sense based on data.
Another point - edged weapons. It has been repeatedly demonstrated that a homeowner with an edged weapon will defeat a home invader with a firearm nearly every time the trial is run. This is because of the huge advantage of picking your ambush point.
