Why do you think Republicans are able to win in a majority of state and congressional races in Michigan, but not in the Senate races or for President? It is just good gerrymandering by the Republicans or are the voting demographics changing in Michigan?
Detroit and Flint. Michigan is a winner take all state with a very conservative rural population.
It doesn't help that the GOPe has tossed that last 2 GOP senate candidates to the dogs as soon as they mentioned returning power to the states. Pete Hoekstra said the 17th amendment was a mistake and Terri Land campaigned partially on returning the power of infrastructure to the states.
