The thing is, look at examples such as Kelly Ayotte and Jeff Flake. They were elected to be constitutional conservatives. They got to DC and traitored the voters before they even had time to unpack. FWIW, this years conservatives elected to the Senate seem more grounded in their values.

It’s a near guaranteed certainty that any ‘conservative’ backed by RINOs will turn like Lucy after Dracula takes a bite. Of course there is never a guarantee that Ted Cruz won’t suddenly turn either. But the odds are that someone that is a complete pain in the ass to and confrontational to RINOs before being elected, and without their support and cash to get him/her elected, will stay on the reservation for a while longer than they would otherwise.
