True enough... one can be civil and decent without kissing up. Could Bush be getting foggy in his later years?

I wholeheartedly disagree. He acted presidential when he was in and carried toward now that he is no longer. There was a time when former presidents did not speak of present policy of this sitting in office. Yes the democrats broke that mold but you just don’t do it. As much as we and he may disagree you don’t undermine a current president by openly.talking policy of a sitting president. This is why he has class.

At best it was a statement easy to misinterpret. The “father” here is America. Clinton was the last Democrat president that did not loathe America.

This is politics....my friend is the enemy of my enemy and so on...and they say ‘keep your friends close and your enemies closer.’ If you want to know what is happening in the other camp, then have a friend who goes there.

Should say, Oligarch from anoth-ah moth-ah.

I really loathe these people. Globalist who put the interest of foreigners over that of the American citizen.

“But political differences don’t mean that you must not be friendly with someone else.”

I wouldn’t be ‘friendly’ with an admitted perjurer and someone who’s been accused multiple times of sexual assaults of very believable women.

How many people really can relate to them? There has to be something to that “brotherhood.” Leaders of the free world.

When I see the photos of him with Clinton laughing it up which I do not see to be class does bother me.

His newest remark is utterly pathetic (embarrassing even to those who worked to stop Clinton) because he is getting carried away from being cordial.

If my brother had raped as many women as Clinton, I’d not associate with him.

One problem I have with this lovefest..

The Clintons are probably saving reels of this lovey-dovey footage that the Bushes are providing. Jeb awarding Hillary that medal of honor this year, Georgey praising Bubba.. backing away from this during a campaign isn’t going to be easy, and it won’t look good.

Alternative interpretation: The “decency” of the Bushes is a pose. It’s prolefeed.

First of all, they're Establishment guys, so they get along well with other Establishment guys.

Second, they've gotten weary of all the political combat. Both father and son were a bit ambivalent about it even when they were actively running for office, and W. checked out of politics well before he left Washington.

I suspect they get a reputation for decency because they feel guilty and depressed about politics. Decent or not, they don't have the stomach for political warfare anymore (if they ever did).

I don’t, but I also don’t like the bashing. I think it is safe to say that Bill Clinton is a very personable guy, it’s been the key to his success as a politician. Even those who disagree with his policies end up liking him as an individual. It’s a shame he has such a dark side and such poor self control, or he might have been another Will Rogers type. By any standards of the present day, his politics were moderate in comparison.

-> Georgey praising Bubba.. backing away from this during a campaign isn’t going to be easy, and it won’t look good.

That’s a given in itself. I see the ads already being made.
This isn’t about former presidents being nice to one another. Why praise your enemy. or is Clinton’s views not a real enemy after all. Is this why he wouldn’t defend himself? I know a lot of friends who worked in the grassroots twice for Bush, are upset that he praises Clinton so crazily.
