Airbnb "facilitates" the short term rental of dwellings, or parts thereof.

If I had my guess, it probably sprang from people renting out their homes for porno shoots.

Well, that, and people wanting to cash in on events such as the Olympics, Super Bowls, etc.

Probably a way to try to get around subleasing and rent control, too.

You can google it like I did and you still won’t know. As near as I can figure out it’s the name of a website for finding these rentals but it certainly has to stand for something! Doesn’t it?

Mike Savage discussed this on his show. He pronounced it “air benub”. Lol. His take was disgust and amazement that people would let complete strangers into their homes for a few bucks. Have to say I agree with him
