Florida Democratic Congressman Alan Grayson, the 17th richest Member of Congress with a net worth of $26 million, whose wife and children are currently on public assistance, took to his blog Wednesday to opine on why his party was beaten so handily in the midterm elections. It wasnt policy, it wasnt the economy, it wasnt jobs, it was hatred of President Barack Obama.
In a post on his blog entitled, The issue was Obama-hatred, and featuring a picture of the president as the devil, the Democrat attacked the American people for having the attitude of, in his words, We hate President Obama, and you should too.
Citing a joke he claims to have overheard at Disney World when a father said, Blame Obama, Shawn. Its all Obamas fault, as his evidence, the Congressman best known for absurdist appearances on MSNBC and rambling House floor speeches, says hatred of the president is why Democrats now have so few representatives in government.
His analysis, littered with links to a page where people can donate to his reelection, is that Republicans ran an issueless, issue-phobic campaign. I dont remember any of them promising to suppress voting, prohibit all abortions, indulge polluters, give huge tax breaks to billionaires and multinational corporations, gut Social Security and Medicare and shred the right to organize even though thats exactly what theyre going to do. Instead, the Republicans said Obama stinks, and were against him. In fact, that was all they said. (Emphasis is his, where he embedded his fundraising link. The link has been removed.)
He concluded his post with (again, the bold is his, the links have been removed):
There was an oft-circulated post-election chart pointing out that Obama had slashed the federal deficit, slashed unemployment, increased consumer confidence, etc., etc. But I would venture to say that none of that matters to those voters who had become convinced that Obama is Beelzebub. Or Mephistopheles. Maybe both.A new Gallup poll show the Americans, by a margin of 53 to 36 percent, want Republicans to set the agenda for the country, not Obama. Gallup also found the popularity of the Democratic Party to be at an all-time low of just 36 percent.Obviously, there are other lessons to be learned from the 2014 election. One could, for instance, compare the 18-point loss of Mark Pryor, who campaigned as the Most Conservative Democrat in the Senate, to the 11-point victory of, uh, me. Surely there are plenty of lessons to be learned from that compare-and-contrast.
But the only lesson that matters to the GOP is this: What President Clinton called the politics of personal destruction works for them big time. Which is why I can predict, unfortunately, that over the next two years, well be seeing a lot of this:
Courage,
Rep Alan Grayson
Indeed. Grayson is a moron, what does that say about the people that vote for the idiot.
Now....why would a populace that treated him like a star come to hate him?
Could it have been a long string of harmful bumbling combined with deliberate, contemptuous deceit?
I’m sorry, but you are going to have to be more specific. Which clown are you talking about? :)
It’s okay because I focus my hatred on his white half.
Hilliryous.
(No Alan, it can’t be the policies /s)
The Social Security Administration has just released wage statistics for 2013, and the numbers are startling. Last year, 50 percent of all American workers made less than $28,031, and 39 percent of all American workers made less than $20,000. If you worked a full-time job at $10 an hour all year long with two weeks off, you would make $20,000. So the fact that 39 percent of all workers made less than that amount is rather telling. This is more evidence of the declining quality of the jobs in this country. In many homes in America today, both parents are working multiple jobs in a desperate attempt to make ends meet. Our paychecks are stagnant while the cost of living just continues to soar. And the jobs that are being added to the economy pay a lot less than the jobs lost in the last recession. In fact, it has been estimated that the jobs that have been created since the last recession pay an average of 23 percent less than the jobs that were lost. We are witnessing the slow-motion destruction of the middle class, and very few of our leaders seem to care.
The “average” yearly wage in America last year was just $43,041. But after accounting for inflation, that was actually worse than the year before...

the circus is back in town
The Dems hate Americans.
I can assure him that it not just Obama we hate. It’s also Democrat Congressmen, Democrat state legislators, Democrat Governors, Democrat Mayors, Democrat City Counselors, Democrat County Commissioners, Democrat bureaucrats in all state and Federal agencies, Democrat school board members, Democrat High School Class Officers and any other Democrat public or quasi-public official I may have left out.
No point in arguing with a fool.
And? ...
Grayson is too modest. We hate the entire Democrat Party for electing unfit politicians such as Reid, Pelosi, Grayson, Franken, Sheila Jackson Lee, Maxine Waters, Barbara Lee, etc. etc. etc.
Sorry, Congressman, but Obama was not on the ballot.
His policies were, however, and those are what people voted against.
If the Pubbies sit on their duffs or stick with the status quo, they won’t be in the majority very long either.
This dem admits that folks don’t like Obama? What’s the point of admitting that fact?
It’s not the only reason.
We should NOT let these liberals get away with talk of hatred, racism, or any of that.
There is hatred of his politics, hatred of his policies, hatred of his positions on issues, hatred of his actions in office. But that’s all fair game.
So what is this dude saying? That you can only oppose Obama based on certain criteria set by liberals??? Really???
