Washington Cathedral’s first Muslim prayer service interrupted by heckler

In a corner of Washington National Cathedral, several hundred Muslim worshipers and other invited guests gathered Friday afternoon for a first-ever recitation of weekly Muslim prayers at the iconic Christian church and to hear leaders of both faiths call for religious unity in the face of extremist violence and hate.

Nevertheless, the carefully scripted ceremony was marred once when a well-dressed middle-age woman in the audience suddenly rose and began shouting that “America was founded on Christian principles. . . . Leave our church alone!” She was swiftly ushered out by security aides, and the service continued.

Sad , isn’t it? This is why the patriots appear to be losing the culture war here in America . The great majority cannot be any longer bothered to get up off their sofas and get out there where the battle is being fought . The other side does, as they seek to control the information battle space . Until there is parity nothing will begin to change and until we overwhelm them we will never see victory in this fight .

It started with W Bush having Ramadan in the White House. Now we have an Islamic President and Imams preaching in the National Cathedral. God have mercy on us...;-(

I agree with him, and I'm Anglican.

Of course there are still a few (small "o") orthodox Episcopalians around--it's just very hard for them to remain--under the authority of apostate bishops.

Let's not forget a simple proposal to proclaim "Jesus is Lord" was defeated at the last Episcopal General Assembly...and TEC is headed by an apostate Marine Biologist---who has defrocked more clergy (for simply leaving TEC to join other Anglican bodies), and spent more money on lawsuits (pursuing departing congregations)....than all other Presiding Bishops combined....

Any Episcopalian--liberal or orthodox--should hang their head in shame.
