We moved to Texas in 1973 and have lived in California five times, always back to Texas. Husband is retiring soon and we plan to STAY in Texas. The freedoms we have here, the love of freedom, and the NO state income tax are some of the reasons. Land of the strong brave and free!
But our property taxes are at least twice as high as in California.

Thanks RebelTex for the ping
Behind it 100% and cannot see anything wrong with it.
Add secession to it and I would still support it. I would feel for the other good Patriots of the US but they have elected officials that could follow the lead.
We need to get in FRONT of this bill.

Pinging my Texas list - lets all support this bill. Thanks, Reb. I pinged the Texas posse upthread.
I suggest all Texas Freepers contact their state reps and urge them to support the passage of this bill.

Ive sent an e-mail to Rep. Kleinschmidt asking him for clarity regarding the intent and scope of this bill. One problem I can see is that it doesn't appear to amend the Penal code, specifically Section 46.05 “Prohibited Weapons”. Pretty much everything that is listed in the NFA is technically banned under Texan law, ironically, the NFA is what allows Texans to own, build, and sell “prohibited weapons”.
Hopefully I can hear back from Mr. Kleinschmidt soon, because this bill needs to go further.

The Sheriff of the county could stop them if he wanted to. He could arrest the Feds if they didnt have his permission to operate. That's a popular myth on the internet, but federal officers do not need the permission of the county sheriff to do anything.
