Former President George W. Bush has a simple explanation for why he almost never criticizes his successor: He feels it undermines the office of the presidency.
In an interview that aired Thursday night on Fox News' "Hannity," Bush insisted he would not attack President Barack Obama even though he continued to have strong opinions about national politics.
"I don't think it's good for the country to have a former president undermine a current president; I think it's bad for the presidency for that matter," Bush said, according to video posted by Mediaite.

Whats the difference between you and a complete idiot on the left who cannot differentiate peas from peanuts?
Oh yea ....you are a”good” conservative
LOL the truth hurts.
Tell your GOPe friends hi!
If you think any Bush reveres the United States Constitution then you are sadly mistaken.
Once again
You bought everything the left said about Bush ...so what does that make you?
It’s the same reason he couldn’t pass conservative policies with a GOP House, Senate, and Presidency. He approves. Silence gives consent.
Oh yea ....you are agood conservative
LOL, you GOPe Statist Bush lovers are funny.
I revere the United States Constitution.
The entire Bush clan laughs at our love of the Constitution.
Every Bush has shown they believe in an activist government (i.e. New programs to increase the Power of the State over the Individual).
Thanks for the funny insult. Tell your buddy, Karl Rove, hi!!
woofie, you’re one of the biggest pro-government party worshipers out here. You see these people in government as celebrities or something holy.
And that makes you what woofie?
I want to know what W told zero at the handover that turned zero white as a ghost.
It would help understand what’s been stuck to us the last six years.
Is Yellowstone or Madrid imminent?
Really? Would you criticize a first century Roman for speaking out against the way Nero or Caligula ruled?
I am all for traditional courtesy; but Obama has consistently sought to undermine all of the cultural & moral bases for traditional courtesy! This has never been more obvious than his antics in the last few days, which show a continuing effort to sabotage the American way of life, as it has been understood even by most "liberals," through the generations.

Boy, is that ever the truth! They need to take down all the urinals in the Capitol and install Bidets! Most of the GOPE women have “bigger balls” than their male counterparts.

I would dare say 99% of his former staff have publicly expressed white-hot hatred for the Tea Party and Conservatives...When was that? Sources please?
Way too little, way to late!!
W should just shut up or put up....well, we know he won’t put up, so he really should just shut up.
I don’t understand to this day, why former President Bush never defended himself from all of the criticisms of his administration / his decisions were rarely defended. He is a good man though, I just don’t see our Founders allowing the naysayers to stifle their passions. I have such mixed thoughts for George Bush personally, since I worked very hard for him in the grassroots; then to see him to do things that I never thought he would do.
The real reason is that Obama is mentally handicapped
“Your comment is infantile and shows the inroads the left made in besmirching President G W Bush.”
The patriot act made all the inroads needed to besmirch G W Bush.
It’s extremely classy given his unique position that he has decided not to criticize the sitting president. But his statement can very easily be taken as meaning that criticizing the president and therefore the government is, in general, inappropriate. He gives Obama too easy an out. It’s as if he accepts the blame for all of Obama’s failures. Sometimes concerns for your country should outweigh civility. I’m tired of Republican who refuse to stand up and fight, I’m tired of Republicans who put civility above doing what is right. He was the best president of the modern erra, other than Reagan, but he wasn’t exactly liberty minded. As pathetic as it is for Obama to blame everything on G W Bush, their are certain things like the patriot act that need to be blamed on him. He set the stage for most of what Obama is doing now, and I will call him a statist and continue to call him a statist. Someone has to stand up for me, someone has to stand up for my freedom. The Republican party needs to do better than be a mouthpiece for a different set of elitists who aren’t being served by the Democrats.
I find dignity and respect to be refreshing. I wish it were commonplace...
“I find dignity and respect to be refreshing. I wish it were commonplace...”
I find a Republican willing to stand up to the Democratic party line refreshing. I wish it were commonplace...
Bush should let the truth fly and consequences be damned.
