Schubert: "Violet"A 15 minute song about a flower. It's the last ballad written by Schubert, when he finally got it all together. The lyrics are by Franz von Schober, his occasional collaborator and possibly his lover at one point. It's in rondo format. At 8:15, when all the flowers gather around to comfort poor Violet, it's a four-handkerchief moment.
