If there were lots of cops there, why didn’t they arrest the leftists trying to run you down? That would constitute assault with a deadly weapon, I would think.
They probably had orders to only arrest the angry, anti-Communist “mob..” Whenever we talked to them, they were bored by the lack of activity on our side.
