EXCLUSIVE: President Obama is planning to unveil a 10-part plan for overhauling U.S. immigration policy via executive action -- including suspending deportations for millions -- as early as next Friday, a source close to the White House told Fox News.
The president's plans were contained in a draft proposal from a U.S. government agency. The source said the plan could be announced as early as Nov. 21, though the date might slip a few days pending final White House approval.
Obama was briefed at the White House by Homeland Security officials before leaving on his Asia-Pacific trip last week, Fox News has learned.
The plan contains 10 initiatives than span everything from boosting border security to improving pay for immigration officers.
But the most controversial planks pertain to the millions who could get a deportation reprieve under what is known as "deferred action."
The plan calls for expanding deferred action for illegal immigrants who came to the U.S. as children -- but also for the parents of U.S. citizens and legal permanent residents.
The latter could allow upwards of 4.5 million illegal immigrant adults with U.S.-born children to stay, according to estimates.

I don’t think he would do this unless he got a secret go ahead from the vermin in the GOPe. They’ll put on some theater, but that’s it. The crooks in the Uniparty are getting what they want.
..... And .... NO Mr. President .... Our immigration system IS NOT BROKEN ....... It was SABOTAGED!!!!
Oh wait ... John Boehner. No testicles.
Nevermind.
I’d say in the middle of actually. I dunnoooo TADSLOS, I think this McGee character knows a little more than he lets on here. Pretty accurate portrayal of our current mess....
OK Travis McBracken...if they REALLY is your name... fess up...Are you now, or have you ever been... a communist?
Always wanted to say that to a SEAL and live to tell about it ;)
Kidding aside though, I really could see a lot of this playing out damn close to the story. It just makes so much sense. Then again, I could see Alas Babylon playing out as well.
Just curious why we are “legal and/or paying taxes”? Just sayin, if we check out what is left?
It will look benign, but will be a Trojan Horse.
Why? They didn’t promise anything like that while campaigning. They won by being worthless. Why wouldn’t they continue being worthless?
That’s what it will take. Congress will not act.
That is correct, the Congress gives away its power of the purse (ability to defund) every time it passes another Omnibus Spending Bill or Continuing Resolution. He has essentially been given a “blank check” by Congress since he has been in office.
Thanks for telling me what I want or don’t want.
I raised a simple question to which no one has an answer or even attempts to speculate about an answer. They want to change the subject. Actually there was one answer -— blackmail 13 RAT senators. There is probably plenty of blackmail material available but it is probably not a plan that would work without people going to jail for attempted blackmail. Remember who controls the Justice Dept.
Yes, we can certainly make a convincing case. He deserves to be impeached. No chief exec ever has committed such violations of Constitutional duty. Please help me understand how we get to the 67 votes necessary to convict. That is a simple request no one wants to answer. Instead, I get crap posts coming back at me.
Why should they do that? They won by not doing that. It’s time we all figure out that we do not have a party in that has a substantive disagreement with Obama. There are few people in the party, but they’re hamstrung.
I misstated what I had put in previous posts. Of course, Articles of Impeachment require a majority House vote. The prez has then been impeached, as was Clinton.
I would like to see it happen but we all know it will not happen without having the votes to convict. The spineless GOP will simply not do it.
You just as well say “the Democrats better think about what they’re doing quick.” The GOP likes where the country is heading. They want amnesty. Their cronies will do fine. When are we going to get that?
I have a simple straightforward approach. But, for it to have a chance to be effective, we must still have faith in at least some of our fellow citizens: from all across the political spectrum, all walks of life, basically your average Joe & Jane Sixpack, to the extent that they still exist in great enough numbers.
The approach is simple:
1. Make the legal case, thoroughly & in great detail.
2. Wage the mother of all PR campaigns, take the message directly to the people in whatever way possible. Make the "news," don't sit back and wait for favorable coverage (for it will never come).
3. Rely on our fellow citizens (as noted above) to process & comprehend the situation and circumstances; let their anger boil. Hopefully, enough of them will start to demand that their Reps & Senators take action.
4. Rely on what virtually all of these Senators want in the end: to remain in office. If they believe that their re-election is in jeopardy, there is a good chance that they will vote to convict, regardless if they wear the "R" or the "D" label on their back.
Like I said above, it rests largely with the composition of our fellow Americans.... are there enough of them that can be roused out of their slumber and spurned to action (i.e., pressure to convict)? I honestly don't know. But what I do know, their numbers won't be increasing as time marches on....
Even though the process would likely wind on to the point that his conviction may occur within a few months of the end of his term, if we as a country cannot force our elected representatives to use their Constitutional powers (which they swear to uphold) to STOP a tyrannical Executive in 2014/15, what are our prospects like for dealing with this down the road??
To a certain extent, it's Now, or Never....
Oh, and of course, the other contingency in this simple plan is that we actually have the right people in the GOP to actually want to make the case convincingly; I honestly don't know if that is a valid assumption at the present.
