Nancy Pelosi: Midterms were NOT a GOP wave.

Despite Republicans expanding their majority in the House by more than 10 seats, retaking control of the Senate and increasing their strength in state legislatures, Nancy Pelosi denies the midterm elections were a Republican wave.

"I do not believe what happened the other night is a wave," Pelosi told Politico.

"There was no wave of approval for the Republicans. I wish them congratulations, they won the election, but there was no wave of approval for anybody. There was an ebbing, an ebb tide, for us."

Republicans increased their majority to 53 seats in the Senate this morning when the Republican Dan Sullivan was declared the victor in Alaska.

The final Senate contest will be decided in a runoff on Dec. 6 between Louisiana Senator Mary Landrieu and Republican challenger Bill Cassidy.

Pelosi told Politico that the problem is not with the Democratic message or their priorities, but in a failure to engage voters.

"Next year has to be the year to expand the universe of people who vote. I'm concerned that eligible voters did not vote in the election this year," Pelosi told Democratic members, according to The Hill.

"We have the magic and the resources to have massive voter registration over the country — not just places that might benefit the Democrats," she added.

Some Democrats, however, believe it was not the turnout but the message that was the problem.

New Jersey Democratic Rep. Bill Pascrell Jr. said Democrats would not win if they continued talking about Pelosi’s favored "When Women Succeed, America Succeeds" agenda.

"Where the hell were the Democrats? What were we talking about?" he told the Bergen County Record. "We’re losing white men. Why are we not talking about that? Why are we always concerned with what’s the politically correct thing to say?"

That’s right Nancy. Everything is fine, just keep doing what you are doing.

Actually it does. If the Pub leadership thinks they won because people think they’re great, and believe the meme that they were elected to work across the isle and get things done, they will continue to be afraid to do anything to stop Obama. What was the first thing Myrtle McConnell said after he won? He took a shutdown off the table. That means unless they give Obama everything he wants in a budget, he can shut the government down and the Pubs will cave.

"There was an ebbing, an ebb tide, for us."-Nancy Pelosi

She has a point. We might say the glass is half full. She says the glass should be taxed completely empty.

For once, according to Gallup, Republicans are more popular than either Obama or the Democrats in congress. The problem is that they are all pretty unpopular. (I don't think that Gallup polled the popularity of Ebola, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was more popular than either party. Hillary might be the leading contender for 2016 but it's probably because she's the virus everyone already knows.)

Pelosi - leader of the incredibly shrinking Democrat minority.

Historic levels of GOP wins, and San Fran Nan does not think there is a GOP wave. They must vote the stupid in San Francisco.

Keep it up Nancy, you're a bright and shining example of progressive intellect.

Haven’t you ever heard of BLACK MAGIC? Practiced mainly by witches, warlocks and Democrats, or any combinations thereof!

Actually, I thought you were going to say that their “magic” is “Black Magic”.... i.e. 90% of the Black Vote that the Dems can count on every Election Cycle.

There was a wave, but it’s now up to REPUBLICANS to prove that the people sent them there to try to pass conservative legislation.

It wasn’t a superwave precisely because it was more anti-Democrat/Obama and pro-Republican (thanks to them not really having a pro-American conservative agenda, except within a few races)..

We still have our work cut our for us: as Christians then Americans, and then our conservative beliefs and finally as Republicans.

“”What does she mean we have the magic and the resources?? We have the magic??? What in the heck is she talking about?? Will anyone in the media ever ask her to clarify exactly what she is talking about????””

No, they won’t.. In fact, that election didn’t even take place in the United States. It was in a galaxy far, far away - the one she lives in!

I’ll ask my own question - has the woman EVER made any sense?
