This might be a silly idea, but I keep thinking we should put some kind of telemetry and communications package on any comets that we can get to. Use them to map the solar system and whatever we can see of the universe beyond; check calculations about the geometry of the universe, whatever. I’m not smart enough to figure what we could do, it just seems like we ought to be able to do something interesting.

Like tagging animals with GPS so we can find out their migration patterns. I like it. Get as many of them as we can.
