This bill was written in a tortured way to make sure CBO (Congressional Budget Office) did not score the mandate as taxes. If CBO scored the mandate as taxes, the bill dies. So its written to do that, Gruber said, suggesting it would not have passed if the law made it explicit that healthy people would pay in and the sick would get money.
Lack of transparency is a huge political advantage, Gruber continued. Call it the stupidity of the American voter or whatever, but basically that was really, really critical to get the thing to pass. I wish ... we could make it all transparent. But Id rather have this law than not.
Gruber, when reached by phone yesterday, said repeatedly, I have no comment.

This Gruber guy is so very, very smart.
Some people thought 1984 was fiction, this guy thought it was an instruction manual.
So Congress doesn’t see its a tax and therefore not subject to the rules for legal passage of a tax. Then the Supreme Court says it is a tax and therefore legal. It could be repealed, but it won’t, because our legislative scoundrels agree with the Executive scoundrels and judicial scoundrels. America is governed by 3 corrupt branches full of scoundrels.Democracy has been overruled.
If you study the whole history of Marxism, Socialism, and Obama, his campaign and performance, it’s all based on lies and deception.
I have contacted the MIT economics department head, professor whitney newey, asking him if he supports MIT professor gruber’s statements in the video to the effect that the US voting public is too stupid to be trusted to vote for what MIT professor gruber has determined is best for them.

Here’s the hero:
“Weinstein, back at home, was stunned at the reaction. Why did he keep finding Gruber gaffes? Why didn’t the press glom onto this stuff first?
Meet the Mild-Mannered Investment Advisor Who’s Humiliating the Administration Over Obamacare “
Glad this went viral.. There’s no way SCOTUS isn’t aware of this now.
lies, deception...and incrementalism.
So what if 75% of Obamacare eventually gets rolled back. There will still be 25% there and that’s a step “FORWARD”, in their view.

This story is NOWHERE on MSNBC.com, CBSNEWS.com, or ABCNEWS.com. I just checked. Total blackout.
Progressives are the most dishonest, lying hacks I’ve ever seen.
There is nothing about leftism that can be advanced for what it truly is.
It’s why they never discuss the real consequences of their policies, they know they will be exposed.
Hey Boston Herald, what about the douchebag the POS legislation is named after?
That was in the "olden days."
Rich Weinstein rocks
Its terrifying that the guy in his moms basement is finding his stuff, and nobody else is, he says. I really do find this disturbing.
Oh. My. G*d.
I posted this on FR in hopes that the story will garner more attention.
Yes, Obama and the Left don't stop campaigning. What about the Right? The Right doesn't campaign. Therefore freedom doesn't have a voice.
A big part of the problem is Obama is correct when he says the Right offers no clear alternative to Obamacare. Has the Right forgotten about freedom and the free market economy which is freedom in action? Does the Right still believe in freedom and the freed market which made America the wealthiest and most powerful nation on earth? I'm not sure.
The Right must be explicit, loudly and often, in offering and explaining the obvious, traditional American alternative to oppressive, coercive big government socialism: the voluntary cooperation of the FREE MARKET ECONOMY, the only source and creation of wealth for a society.
