Demolish the bridge and the smart ones will move and survive.
Birds are not stupid like Democrats. They will move to a new place, not sit and wait for someone to give them one.....................
They are an invasive, imported species,
and should NOT be protected.
You gotta see this.
Where’s their EBT cards and Social Security???
Cry fowl!
Yeah, just up around the corner on the Sacramento-San Joaquin River they jacked up the price of a new toll crossing a couple of hundred million with "special mitigation efforts" to "protect" the migrating Salmon from the "effects" of the pile driving for the bridge' footings
Slicing up actually endangered birds of prey with “green” wind farms? Perfectly OK.
Tearing down this bridge (they’d move)? Not so much.
Got it. /bizarro world...
They’ll move when they set off the charges.
I’m pretty sure that if you take the old bridge down the cormorants are going to go somewhere.
How stupid can they be...?
Set a small charge off to scare them off the bridge and then blow the damn thing up....
The birds will find a new home all by themselves...
I guarantee they won’t show up at the homeless shelter....
The birds know crappy Chinese manufacturing when they see it.
The birds aren't stupid - they know who they're negotiating with.
We have timber property in Santa Cruz and had to wait until Sept 15th to operate in the area of two trees that MIGHT be habitat for some long eared bats that are not there. Can’t hurt the critters that are not there NOR can you risk HARMING THEM THOUGH THEY’RE NOT THERE. GRRRRRRRRRRRRR
So the birds are too stupid to fly away when the bridge starts being dismantled? The stupid birds will die and the smarter ones will live.
This reminds me when I lived and worked in Northern California. This was during the height of the Spotted Owl scam. Of course ALL logging had to be shut down on the west coast because the spotted owl can ONLY live in the forests that were all slated for harvesting. That came shattering down when a pair of breeding owls moved in to a Kmart sign in Crescent City.
One shotgun, 1000 rounds. End of discussion.
Any FHWA funded project requires environmental review, including remedation to comply with the Migratory Bird Act. What was the plan then? Follow through. Done.
These birds are undesirables anyway!! They are shot if they come around private fish ponds. They eat a large number of the small fish every day.
